its these properties that reversed my mental trauma deemed irreversible

remember it also builds new nuero pathways in the brain so as you "forget" in one region of the brain you build a new pathway in another

this is why it is helpful for ptsd forget the response, learn a new one

This is why THC is so effective in helping with PTSD.

Also scientists have recently realized that the brain is not static and is in a constant state of flux, changing physical neural pathways as a result of experience, trauma, emotions, etc.

This explains a great many things about human behavior and will lead to new treatments for trauma.

Your brain is analogous to a hard drive. You store memories, but they can be overwritten by more recent ones.

To illustrate exactly how things work, imagine you LOVE chocolate ice cream (you do don'tcha?) Now if you were eating some chocolate ice cream and let's say you get very sick from it, or perhaps something traumatic like a serious accident occurs while eating it. Your brain will drop the connection between eating ice cream and pleasure, and make a new connection between eating ice cream and pain or illness. This might forever alter your behavior, because now you will reject chocolate ice cream, and probably will do so in the future, unless some other experience further modifies the connections.

So this overwrite of our brain pathways applies to everything we experience intensely.

It can also explain the reason why we experience cognitive dissonance, when we have conflicting emotions about something or someone...
