Marijuana Friendly Airports!

WTF is wrong with San Diego? Why do they have their heads so far up their asses down there?

I called the San Diego Harbor Police, who have jurisdiction over San Diego International Airport, and was told that they DO allow you to fly with your medication. The person I spoke with just told me to have my card and paper copy of my recommendation. and to only have the amount of medication allowed by the law.

She also told me to arrive at the airport extra early because the TSA will pull me aside and go through all of my carry-on baggage and have the Harbor Police check out my medication and recommendation.

She said that once the Harbor Police tell the TSA that everything is legit, I will be free to board my flight with my medication.

I specifically asked if the TSA would try and throw a federal charge on me and she said no. She was actually really cool and laughed when I asked her that question.

So I guess SD has finally lightened up.:tiphat:

We’ve called our local airport, (western Colorado), a few times to ask about this and basically got the same answers as NiteGoat, (my last call was about a year ago, so I would definitely suggest calling before each flight and keep in mind that policy differs at each airport.) According to the person/people I spoke to, the local police handle it…They usually just send you right through, from what I understand, but occasionally they have you step aside and call the local LEO over to make sure your card is legitimate and aren’t carrying more than you are supposed to have, (there is always one or two local LEO near the TSA area.)

They always make sure to add something like, ‘TSA’s priority is to ensure the safety of the flying public, not to enforce drug policy’, so they hand it off to local LEO. They also said I should have my card with my meds, in my carry-on bag, (they really emphasize 'carry-on', not checked luggage.)

They also mentioned that you need to check on the laws where you are traveling, (local LEO could always call the PD where you are landing, if they wanna be dicks.)

They must get these questions a lot since much of what was said sounded a lot like a server repeating a beer list, memorized as a result of being repeated over-and-over-and-over-and…

Yeah, if it is in your checked luggage, it may get past them, and they have no control over that situation.. They (LEO) are not mellow, or FRIENDLY anywhere, but sometimes, a bit hands off. I don't ever trust LEO, and would never admit to having it unless I had no choice.

Once had a nice jar in a bag wrapped by my prescription (CA) - flying out of SFO, it made it there (Hawaii), but there were many (like 10) pieces of paper in the bag reminding me that They were in there. Scare tactic. Fuckk LEO.

On a similar note;It was stated in the press that UK airports will no longer arrest persons with up to an ounce of cannabis.
obviously a good move,so they can put theyre efforts into preventing repeats of Lockerbie.
However,No doubt they will confiscate your dope, and, will arrest you if you give them any abuse/attitude.

This is a directive from the UK.Home office. It also includes other class B s.
Quite handy if you are returning from holland.

the war is almost over for us. Used to fly with it all the time post 911. 10g sack right on the taint...no issue, then the new body scanners crushed my desire to taint it furthur. Oil cart + girlfriend= good times ! But damn now I hear if your carded up in Cali ya good! crazy. I also hear they don't event flinch when an oil cart vape is packed away any truth to that? Wow! but then again its just downright normal and the way it ought to be! The meds could be whack as fuck over there ya know?
