I ended up tasting the 'Thicc' pheno of the SSSTN x ThaiFrican that I recently cut.
She's still green, barely dry enough to smoke, but produces a lot of smoke!
She's got a wack to her, this one, and we haven't started the cure at all.

Then today back to her sisters, not sure which one, one of the smaller earlier sticky ones, I'm sure.
One bud is catpiss/ammonia with a background kerosene note, touch of fruitiness up front.
Very unique indeed.
Not super strong, but strong enough.
Very up, chatty (and coherent), energy is good (gardening in the rain!), almost no burn out after.
Long lasting, too.
Extra bong hits lead to spacing out in the garden, but having a good time.

Will leave that 'Pearl' pheno girl for a bit longer.
Some of the other SSSTN x ThaiFricans range between ginger, lemon, touches of diesel/chem, tasty tasty!

Maybe should pull a bud out from SSSTN (Sticky or Fluffy), now they've been curing for over a month, I think.

Most of the menu is the SSSTN or her daughters.
Variations on a them.
Getting to see some of the genetic range.

After a week or two of alternating between sunny dry days and days with fog and mist and a bit of rain, it happened.
This last lady got a bit of rot on her north side, 1/3rd way down the cola.
I cut it out, of course, but didn't have anything to clean it at all.
Next few days should be okay weather.
Fortunately, she looks like she has just entered into the harvest window.
Things progressed fast in the last week.
Think I will prepare to chop her very soon, as soon as I have the chance.

Meanwhile, the strength on the Thicc pheno is growing every day.
Two good bongs will really start you day off on a high note.

Summer-Fall-Winter Grow -- Maria's Haze Heaven Hacienda!

Day something something... harvest for 'Thai' pheno

She's finally come down.
45 cm = 18" long top cola, that's 20 cm = 8" wide.
Just calyx upon calyx, inner leaf upon leaf.
Everything in there is sticky at this point.
The rot hadn't progressed, but I found another tiny spot.
On the early side, but down she comes.

I know it would be best to cut up to dry.
But i want to see what she'd look like as a single bud.
I'll cut her if there are any issues, though.

Peace and Love,

What shall we grow next, dear friends of Maria's Hacienda Haze Heaven?

About the spring season:

We now know that starting sativas / hazes around March to April leads to giant plants that easily get out of control by summer, and difficulties with harvest. Same with re-vegged satis.
We also know that the more hybrid varieties, when started in March to April, may just go straight into flower (after maturity, 4+/- weeks), finishing up mid summer through early fall.

I do have the two last seeds of the Lemon 'n' Lime Jones.
These should probably also flower through my summer here, like the last two did.
And I also have quite a few seeds of the very early / fast Lemon 'n' Lime Jones x (((NvHz x MM) x (NvHz x MM)) x ThaiFrican).
These obviously have more of the haze in the mix (along with Thai!), which makes them more sativa, and we can't really know what they'll do in these light cycles without trying out for ourselves.

About the summer season:

Despite the crazy fun of those big sativa girls this past summer, it was just too much.
The size in particular, when facing typhoons, was a terrible mix.
This is why I didn't plan for that in the first place, but, anyhoo....

So this summer I want to start the sativa haze plants around July or so.
The last summer the old mature plants showed sex in August, earlier or later.
An early July start will give them 4-8 weeks to veg, mature and show sex by August again.
Then run through flowering up to November, December, January, or however long they want.
Think I'll also top them, this time, just once or maybe twice.
Result I'm aiming for is shorter plants, maybe 100cm - 150cm tall, with several main colas each.

Having played with the SSSTN for two seasons, I want to run the Thai Madness and ThaiFricans again.
First time just absolutely stunted Thai Madness plants, all seeded, and no female ThaiFricans.

Two fem Thai Madness. (Looking for nice mothers.)
Four (or more) reg ThaiFrican. (Looking for nice mothers and fathers.)
A dozen or more reg (Thai Madness x ThaiFrican). (Looking for mothers and fathers, too.)

If I get a nice girl from either the Thai Madness or the ThaiFrican, I'll hit them with pollen from the TM x TF.

Would really like to do a nice seed this time.
Like, hit a whole decent sized side cola with pollen, and knock out a few hundred seeds.

Of course, I still have my eyes on some of Prempavee's beautiful Thai genetics.
Not to mention a long unrequited love affair with ACE's Golden Tiger (pref the 3rd ed).
And OJD still has more goodies that I would love to play with, too, especially from the Outback Haze and Thai Neville crosses.
But every time I think of getting packages in the post, it's a risk around here.

I just dropped eight of my Lemon 'n' Lime Jones x (Grail x ThaiFrican) -- all from OJD originally.
These may have enough indica in them that they'll just flower on up through the summer.
Their mother did, so there's a possibility!

Though, after I dropped them, discovered my Garden B site is now totally overgrown, practically unusable for me.
So I'm going to have to find somewhere else pretty soon!
