This season we are introducing our new Satori. We have refined this strain genetically to produce an even more reliable and powerful cross that will delight your connoisseur heart. Satori is an exceptionally easy to grow sativa. She has shown impressive hardiness against spider mites and other pests, and she possesses a good measure of mould resistance. Her slim appearance makes it possible to plant in narrow rows, or in SOG, to maximize her typical record yields even more.
The firm side shoots provide highest quality cuttings. As with all our sativas she is heat resistant - an added bonus for small indoor environments and hot summer grows. The mainly sweet & fruity-spicy aroma is a real treat for the senses.
Satori grows a long headbud with chunky flowers and does not require much feeding on soil; you can almost do without feeding provided you use quality soil and sufficient pot size (approx. 2 gallon pots for adult plants under 250-600W lamps). Keep EC levels low in hydroponics for best results. All Mandala strains are extremely efficient in nutrient uptake due to their hybrid vigour and require only low EC levels/feeding to develop huge leaf, stem and bud structure.
Satori is a high yielding, powerful plant with an exceptional sativa high. The heavy buds are easy to manicure, and from the resinous bud leaves you can produce finest grade hash, comparable in quality to the famous Nepalese "temple balls".
Grow summary:
9/10 germed in 4" pots, straight to the medium. One seedling was a bit of a runt but it soon grew out of it though it did later top itself and grow multiple branches. when they were potted up I was lazy and they went into a mix designed for more mature plants and took a bit of a pounding but after a brief recovery they grew healthy and strong and vegged consistantly with little variation in height and general growth pattern. they have surprisingly wide fingered leaves and short internode distance. when they were 12-14" across the population they were put into flower.
they bloomed up into a shitty ratio 2:7 f:m, but across the entire population inc the SQ there was 10:8 f:m so it is probably not indicative of anything, unless they were more sensitive to their burn than the SQ alongside. Two phenos on two plants. The first a distinctly Sativa looking plant, thinner leaves, buds are more spear like. The second one was a more Indica/balanced looking plants with a fatter bud structure and sloghtly less stretch (both were very controllable in stretch). They both could have done with more N than they got early in flower and had some N def later in flower but performed well none the less. The indica type came down at 65 ish days and the Sativa type have just come down at just over ten weeks. In flower they had some really complex aromas. They started off distinctly different but by the end were fairly similar in aroma (bud structure remained as stated before). Lush, the floral smell that was hanging on to the indica type virtually went and was replaced by a spicey sandle wood flavour with a deep sour fruit backing. Both will yield ok at ~2+ per plant dry i reckon.
Indica dom:
Sativa dom:
both threw a couple (minimal) nanas but i put that down to a horrible mid flowering power outtage that took the grow down for a period and threw their lighting schedule (the SQ were basically done so didn't suffer).
i didn't look for a mother on this run, i like to get a rough idea of a strain before running a couple of packs to select a mother BUT I will be putting my hand in my pocket and picking some up for this purpose some time down the line. This one deserves another run and to be dialled in properly, I really think she has a shit load of potential.
I only have the indica pheno dried right now and will update with pics of the dry sativa in the future, the below are from the more Indica/balanced type.
These will need some time in the jar before a smoek report but again, I will update when I have tested it fully!
Grow strong icmag.
