Males... I have to bin them right?

I've just checked on my ladies and it turns out that some of them aren't quite as female as i thought... which is not cool. I've attached pics. They are 1 week into flower and this has happened but they are female seeds so what did i do? I trimmed some leaves a day or two into flower is that why my babies have forsaken me?

Anyway, i just have to pull them out don't i? If some have hermied can i just remove the non-female branches or is that it for the entire plant?

They were feminised seeds that's even what it said on the packet. I'm gonna have to pull 'em... damn it. I've grown this strain before and they were all females as well.

where did you get those fem seeds from??


the pictures werent great but they look like males as opposed to hermies from what i could make out.

Yeah i've had a proper look and 6 of 8 are def males. Got them from sensible seeds and they are pukkas armageddon which i have grown from seed before and they have been great. Sensible have said that they will post out some more though, despite having no evidence that i was telling the truth, which was nice of them i thought.

If i grow them as they are will I end up with a nice selection of seeds and some spare pollen? I'm going to have to look into this i suppose since i need lots of seeds at the moment anyway.

im just confused as to why you bought fem seeds and then got males, are you sure they were fem seeds? the only way you will end up some viable f2 seed is if you have a male and a female in the same room during flower and the males pollinates the female

yeah they are def fem seeds, i would have sent them back when i ordered them if they weren't. It might be that the plants are hermies and not males afterall. I'm told that fem seeds have a tendency to hermie. Can i not grow hermies and get bud and seed at the same time?

So if i leave the 6 males and 2 females in there will I get viable seeds? Will they be femisized?

you will not make fem seeds because i dont think they were feminised to begin with, because if they were, they would be hermies and not those pollen chucking males you got. its all good though, if you want to make seed kill all the males except your best one, then grow it out and mate it with your females to get some nice f2's.

Thanks for the advice, i'm gonna think about it for the next couple of hours... whilst tending my other grow but i think i'll just go full tilt with the two remaining plants (presuming that they don't turn on me as well) and try to get a good yield out of them. Two HUGE plants and 2 600 watters can't be that bad afterall.

I've bought feminized seeds that did that as well. Some hermied, and a few were out and out males. The hermied, was a good smoke, a little seedy, ok a lot seedy but I smoked it anyway. The seeds wouldn't be anygood I don't think because you'd have to leave them go much longer then if you are rescuing some smokeable bud. It's like 95% females/hermies when you buy feminized seeds, not always girls, just much better odds, good for those of us who are newbies or who don't have experience. Very disheatening though when you run across a nasty batch though.
