The next to last pic looks male, but the lighting makes it hard to tell. The males will almost always expose their true sex first. This is because it takes them another couple weeks to mature and drop pollen.

If you turn off the HPS and just put on a reg incandescent, your pics will be clearer...

thanks again for all the help, sorry i know im uber-impatient and that IS NOT GOOD with this type of thing :p

Well I hacked the tall scragly guy, female or not it was just too crappy to conitnue growing. I lst'd the crap out of the remaining plants hoping that the stretch period will give way to some new growth tips... i guess ill just let them keep goin, they are pretty big and i would guess i should see some definite sign of sex by tues or wed.

Just sucks cause im leaving this weekend and i need to t/p these to 5gal containers before i leave... and i was hoping to have a day or 2 with them after the t/p to make sure they were settling in ok...

grr... only one solution.. :joint: :)

From your last post with the 4 pictures I would say girl, girl, guy, guy. I realize getting the guys out fo your grow room is important, but you definitely do not want to start hacking plants before you know sex for sure. Don't worry about space...the plants won't need extreme concentrated light until after gender is obvious and basic flower set is being established. Also, pollenation won't be a threat for another 4-6 weeks for you, so dont sweat that. I'm sorry to say this, because you asked people not to, but BE PATIENT. It is important to get males out and maximize light usage, but impatience leads to improvisation, which often leads to poor decisions that ultimately hurt your growing.

If you have the patience (seems you dont lol) you can try covering just one branch of each plant with a plastic or something to create a 12 hour photoperiod just for that branch and you'll know the sex.

Never tried this myself though.

no damn clue yet

no damn clue yet

is that hairs or is that a piece of plant material coming up from the side? try to get a closer pic

looks like a male. (males usually point away from the plants(horizontally), and females usually point upwards or at a slight angle)

male, and male. sorry.

I went to go peek in on my babies before lights out. i found one of my friends, the second most active one in the bunch. strong indica leaves smell of fruityness. A male. :( so thats 3 males this grow. of the remaining plants i have 3 more stong plants and 3 weak ones . all the weak ones are leaning sativa. im hoping the other 3 are gonna be female, and i hope i dont end up having to rely on the 3 runts being female. cuz the indica plants have a really nice smell on em. they smell nothing like their parents. the sativa leaning plants have like 0 smell on em and are all runty and mutated looking.

sorry for the mini thread jack

have you got more plants left with no preflowers? males always show first with females waiting another week or so.

hmm, well this is really interesting.
Just because someone you do not know told you on the internet to chop a plant, you did it?
It wouldn't help saying you should have been more patient but geez. There are no 100% signs of that last plant beeing male in fact I would have lent the other way.

Now if it was female then you've seriously reduced your chances of getting 4 females.

I came across this page looking for male part pics because I have a plant that looks very similar to yours, it has been looking male all week, still does look male but today a white hair has shown. Now I'm a bit confused but thinking it can possibly still be female...

I know where you are coming from though, I did the same a couple years back cause I was running out of space and 2 hours later as I am about to throw out the plant I had chopped I notice it has shown female preflowers. Am more careful and patient these days. Is worth it.

yeah thats not the only reason i chopped- i saw multiple preflowers that had the "ball on a stick" look which is most definitely a sign of a male. As far as i know calyx's dont form on a stick :( also there were multiple "balls" at some preflower sites... also pointing to male..

Sucks but it happens, i dont think i chopped too early i think i was just unlucky with the hand i was dealt... hopefully the last 3 are females, but at this point im already plannin my next bean purchase :(

that guy made a point.. there are people on here that will tell you its male so you chop early and there are people here that will tell you to poision your plant with things like stump remover. the rest are just people guessing :)

let your plants carry on growing and only chop after you see a nearly fully formed bollocks or groups of them. you do not have to chop it really early to avoid unwanted seeds, because it takes weeks before it will drop pollen!

also now your gonna buy more seeds? keep your males and polinate some lower buds.........
