no bud porn for a while now, except for what's in he jars. (and a few OZs of Golden Tiger hidden from the Mrs so it can cure :p )
Probably around 600gms

Have bought a few more tools/toys that should make a big difference to success rates
EC truncheon
pH Pen with calibration and correction liquids
EM1 Bio Booster for organics
The TripleX saved the day when the girls got root rot last week, so it looks like it works similar to other products like "Southern Ag Garden Friendly Biological Fungicide" and "Botanicare Hydroguard Bacillus Root Inoculant"
I added 3 drops to 20L and it fixed it over night and have also started adding 3 drops weekly to the DWCs. No water change or anything else although the temps did drop at about the same time I cured them.
Back in the 90's we would do a whole grow without changing the water once and it seemed to work OK.

Speaking of organic grows these Golfballs are going great. Just giving pH corrected rainwater with CalMag and microbes once dry to about 50mm deep (every 2 days 2L per 12L bucket poured on top)
Planted in a mix of Blood and Bone and Organic potash with worm castings, dolomite lime, coco, compost etc
This is the healthiest looking grow I've ever done and once it's up and running it's the easiest too

KA5H in with some Golfball clones on the veg cycle still

2x HA5H in DWC. One had root rot so I treated them both
Roots have come back and are feeding well. The shadows make them look worse than they are but one was dead. and a little MxPCK in with them

RootRot.jpg Roots.jpg

I'm trying to get these Malawi x PCKs to feed properly before switching them to 12/12
Just put them in bigger buckets yesterday but used some old soil left over from other grows so I will have to test the run-off and feed accordingly. Fingers crossed :p

I put all the Ace strains in the one room which is on 11/13 cycle
I've been trying to correct the feed and the pH and I think it's starting to come right
2 x fem KA5H in DWC on the left and 10 x reg Milawi x PCK on the right
I took a few big shade leaves off the bigger KA5H at the base of some branches to stop them stretching and let light through
20220702_173347.jpg

The 4 x Golfballs in organic soil in the 1200x1200 tent are going great still and I am adding a little P-K and some calmag for the last phase of growth
I will remove some of the larger leaves on these also when the branches have enough stretch
20220702_173425.jpg

This 900x900 tent has 4 x Golfballs from clones which seem to thrive in my organic mix
2 x KA5H clones at the front which I am growing in straight coco. The roots are just developing which is why they look sad. They will pick up soon enough
The large KA5H at the rear which I took the clones from isn't feeding well but I will have to wait for the soil to dry out before fixing it or the roots will be too wet for too long

The KA5H just won't stop growing. It's up to my shoulders now and I'm 6' tall
It dwarfs the MxPCK (bottom right) which was planted before it

Starting to change now on the 11/13 cycle
I'm having trouble keeping the KA5H height down , as you can see :)
The 3 remaining Malawi x PCK are doing better but I will sacrifice 1 for seed

I learned to quit using the cal-mag when they start flowering. The stuff is 2-0-0.

That is a good pH pen.

Another week has gone by and I'm learning a lot through my mistakes
I've been overcooking the 2x DWC Killer A5 Hazes and most of the leaves have dropped off. I'm not too cut up over it because there is still plenty of time for the buds to grow and the branches might stop stretching as a result
If someone knows the optimum KA5H EC for DWC and coco I would appreciate knowing what it is :) I'm working towards about 1.6 ?? It was at 2.0+ I'm too used to growing indicas :p

Clones from the KA5H parent are well ready for the bud cycle. I'm doing my first Coco grow with these and I'm pretty excited :)
KA5HClones.jpg

The Malawi x PCK are enjoying themselves in the old soil mix with bottle nutes
MxPCK.jpg

The Golfballs are getting fed bottled nutes now as the organic food in the soil got depleted and they have a few weeks/month to go
Golfball.jpg

MxPCK seem to clone very easy. These ones are showing roots at 9 days with no hormone gel or anything. Just cut with a blade on an angle and push into the cube
MPCKRoots.jpg

The clone room has 4 Golfballs at the back which are on hold kind of (rootbound). The large KA5H with root probable problems at the back for clones and the 2x KA5H mature clones in coco at the front
CloneTent.jpg

The fully mature male MxPCK is getting the chop today. I know it's not buds but some people may never see a fully ripe male
The pollen is absolutely covering the ground
This will be good stuff for a bit of "pollen chucking" in the future for those great fem only strains :)

Got a pic of the harvested MxPCK pollen and also potted up the 2x KA5Hs in coco. Coco is great for root health with all the air available. I like it! (y)
I dabbed a little fresh pollen on a few buds and I'm drying out the rest for long term storage
Dabbed a little on the 3 MxPCK girls and some on a KA5H bud (could be interesting) and also a Golfball bud, just in case :)

Just documenting some dates
I cut the middle out of the sad looking KA5H mother and made a few clones from her and repotted into coco by crumbling as much dirt off the roots as possible
Mother and daughters below

A hedge of 4 Golfballs at the back and clones at the front

MxPCKs from the 3 different mothers, color coded on the left
The rest are from topping the KA5H. Trying my luck with the big branch in the coco to see if it grows roots :)

The grow room is starting to get interesting again as the buds fatten and I start to learn a few things

The main room is coming along well, sort of, and I have just about got the DWC thing sorted out. The mistake I've been making is feeding the Killer A5 Haze plants like they're indicas and it seems to have given them poor root health as well as causing many of the leaves to fall off as a result. Giving them an EC of around 1.5 to 1.6 instead of 2.0 seems to be doing wonders for them. I think I need better lights also. pH 5.7
They are starting to recover from the over-feeding
The Malawi x PCK is doing very well in the old soil with bottled nutes at about EC 2.0 pH 6. 2L every 2 days or till dry.
The 3 plants look slightly different to each other. The back one is taller, the left one looks more sugary and the front right one is starting to get flickers of red on the buds
Main.jpg

The Golfballs are starting to bulk up and a few branches are falling over from the weight
I'm feeding bottled nutes now but only 0-12-11 since about a week ago. EC at about 0.4. Hence the Autumn look from the lack of nitrogen
Golfballs.jpg

The clone tent has 4xKA5Hs ready to root in about a week
8x M x PCKs from the 3 different mothers potted in coco a few days back. I started budding them before deciding to take clones
Top of the mother KA5H is under the dome
and the young Golfball hedge at the back on hold
CloneRoom.jpg

The mother plant at the rear and her two daughters. She has perked up immensely since being repotted in coco. I think I'm going to like growing in coco. It's so quick to fix problems. The pots I grow in fit perfectly in the buckets I already have for a perfect drain system. I'm making stands tomorrow and fitting drain hoses to the buckets
I've had a lot of trouble growing sativas, as anyone who saw my Golden Tiger grow will know :p

I packed the dry MxPCK pollen into viles and added to the flask in the freezer
20220731_190001.jpg

There's some strange growths coming out of the leaves on the KA5H in the DWC. Probably from running the mix too hot maybe?
I'm running EC 1.5 now

More to come when the plants wake up :)

Chopped the Golfball on the weekend. The buds were falling over from the weight and growth had slowed to a halt
I gave the other 4 small Golfball plants to a mate to grow out

It's starting to smell interesting in the main area with the Killer A5 Haze maturing. I'm starting to get the DWC sorted now and the buds are fattening up nicely although I have killed much of the foliage

The Malawi x PCKs are doing very well and are giving off a fruity/berry smell. I think they will all show color. You can see a rosy look coming through on the bud close-up
They have started to ripen fairly early. Maybe because I pollinated a few branches...
I have some clones from each mother ready to grow out. I will let them veg longer next time since they are female clones. I think I like this strain :)

MxPCK clones in coco nearly ready to pot up. They grow so fast and healthy! Good for tough conditions :D
MxPCKClones.JPG

These 3x KA5H in coco, 2 from clone, grew very fast and are showing bud already. I might move them into the main area with the other KA5H plants and move the shorter MxPCKs into their own 4x4 tent to finish
