The landscape is changing in the grow room. I've added a few Ace strains so it's time to start a new thread
Continuing from https://www.icmag.com/threads/stick...1-mango-chutney-royal-gorilla.18050602/page-2

The MPCK are regulars and are in 2L pots with a weak organic mix
Of the 3 fem KA5H, 2 are in water with an air-stone bubbling away @ CF of ~10 and the other is in an organic mix with some blood and bone etc added. Hopefully 1 or both setups grow well. It's almost the same mix as the Golfballs which are doing well
KA5HandMPCK.jpg

The main area is not really being used to it's full potential but I'm having fun :)
Left to right is Mango Chutney, French Macaron and Golfball
The Golfballs aren't doing very well and may get the chop early to make room for bigger and better things. I am learning a little organics and tried the "less is more" approach. The GBs are hungry buggers and that didn't really work for them. The same organic mix (further down the page) but with added B&B worked far better and watered once with a little potash. I won't be lollypopping them because they might need all the goodness from the leaves later on
MainArea.jpg

Mango Chutneys. Putting on a little weight. Plenty of amber trichomes on the leaves but not deep in the bud structure yet

French Macarons. Not showing any color yet

Golfballs. Looking a bit malnourished

I don't know what I've done to these Rocket Fuels but they don't look very happy and the top leaves are curling. If I get a few buds from them and maybe a few seeds that will do. I have saved some pollen so need to test the smoke to see if it's worth freezing for the future
RocketFuel.jpg

These Golfballs are my first success "so far" with the organics. I should be able to feed straight water with microbes from here on in since all the blood and bone was added to the mix long before they were introduced to the pots. I'll probably put them in the 1200 x 1200 tent for budding and put the Ace strains in the open area because it has more height for the sativas

I have to keep the Golfball going because myself and a friend are the caretakers of this strain for about the last 30 years from cuttings, even though we have no real idea what it is :)
We had a poll with a few of us, against other strains I have grown and it beat quite a few other strains,
including:
Wedding Cake
Critical Mass
Mango Chutney
G13 Widow
Royal Gorilla
Deadhead

Not saying all these were grown perfectly but they had similar conditions. The Deadhead could have matured a bit longer in the ground so that's a maybe.

It was rated on:
Strength of stone
Duration
Lack of brain fog
and just general feeling good and wanting to have it again
Taste was a secondary consideration but it passes that anyway

Your KA5H are taking off a ton quicker than mine is. Everything looks great! What is your soil?

Thanks @blondie
It is a good time of year here for growing so that might have something to do with it. Low 20°s and a little humid

In the big buckets I use:
2 x 2L Coco Coir
1 x 2L perlite
1 x 2L worm castings
2 x 2L organic potting mix
Dolomite lime @ 130ML per 12L

Optional:
200ml B&Bone mix with 1/10th Sulphate Of Potash by weight.
Add to the above mix and water it in and stand for a couple of weeks if possible
This should do the whole grow
Rainwater with a weak cal-mag solution and EM microbes is used every water, but it hasn't needed more water yet

I got this info from here and modified it to what is locally available https://www.icmag.com/threads/organics-for-beginners.48694/

I place the sprouted seed in the plug directly into the big bucket but not in the main food mix
What I do is sit an empty cup in the bucket when it's half full and fill to the brim of the cup around it
I then water the mix well, before removing the cup and almost filling the hole with fine organic seed mix
I then place the plug with the sprouted seed (which I sprouted earlier in the cloning box) in the hole and finish filling with seed mix and water in with a sprayer
They are getting ~300µmol of light 18 hours

This way the seedling doesn't get disturbed moving it around and can keep growing
I tried using the little plastic cups but I found them too small for me to control the moisture level to my satisfaction and I damaged the plants when transplanting them
You can kinda make out the plug and seed mix in the center

Main area. Left to right is Mango Chutney, French Macaron, Golfball
The MC is still smelling great but looks like a slow grow. The FM is looking VERY sugary and the Golfball isn't going to recover from being nutrient starved at the start of the grow so will come out today to make room for the Rocket Fuels

MC's

FM's giving some sugar and starting to show some color

GB's Looking like they won't improve any more. Small leaves are starting to emerge from the buds so they need to come out today

The Rocket fuel buds are looking a bit better and smelling a little potent. I think they will actually be quite tasty :)
RFBud.jpg

The Ace grow is going well and the Deep Water Culture Killer A5 Haze is going to pass the Malawi x PCK any day now. The 3 KA5H in the larger pots
I can notice the DWC grows getting bigger every few hours, they grow so fast :)

This is my first success with organic growing so far. So these healthy looking young Golfballs will be getting the 1200 x 1200 tent with the new light all to themselves

Harvest time tomorrow for the French Macaron. I'm pretty much 100% certain that's what it is now as it arrived unlabeled :)

FM.jpg

The Mango Chutneys are at about 62 days so I think another week for them
MangoChutney.jpg

MC.jpg

Thinking it's best to pull the Rocket Fuels while they're still kinda healthy. Don't want the spots in the bud. Will still get a good idea of the taste and quality
RocketF.jpg

Golfballs are looking healthy enough
Golfball.jpg

I don't know what's going on with these Killer A5 Haze? Maybe the EC is off? They're growing uber fast but don't look right!
KA5H.jpg

I think I grew too many of these Malawi x PCK. I would probably be better off growing half as many in bigger buckets so I can fertilize properly and get them bigger so I can sex them for seed production.

Your ka5h look great to me. I see a small blemish on one leaf but other than that I’m not seeing anything bad. These things are large compared to mine. It’s hard to believe they started the same time. Your soil ka5h are in the containers to the side of the large buckets?

Those are 4 little Golfball clones I'm just keeping alive really
The other KA5H is in soil in a 12L bucket in behind. She's been dwarfed by the others but looks more healthy
I think I'll flip the 2 big ones today and maybe take some clones from the one in soil at a later date. If I don't flip them now I just won't have room :p

I have seen the leaves like that KA5H with the look of being in the bath tub too long. They'll be fine. Nice grow and great looking plants!!

Nearly all cleared out ready for the Ace strains to move in

The Mango Chutney really is some stinky weed. Smells hard out of rotting fruit
~64 days in the bud cycle and yellow hard stalks like bamboo
I don't think I fed these things any nitrogen right through the grow that wasn't in the soil mix. And there wasn't much to start with!
Feels like it will dry to about 4 ozs

Lucky I didn't put all my eggs in one basket and still have the one KA5H in soil!
One of the DWC KA5H has root rot. Must be too warm in my grow room.
I dosed them both with 3 drops of TripleX and we'll see what happens.....
It's all good stuff. I wanted to see if it would be OK and I've caught it fairly early so I can test if TripleX works. I'm only trying it on a hunch due to the ingredients.
The other good news is the potted one is doing real well and I just took 2 clones off it. The ones at the bottom without a full leaf in support which would have stunted soon anyway :)
If the DWC doesn't start to recover I might just turn the whole thing into clones
When you get lemons ................ :p
