Purple Honduras x Panama cob

Purple Honduras x Panama cob

Congrats on another indoor african sativa harvest, friend

8-9 weeks of flowering! That's really fast, Ethiopian x Malawi F1 hybrid usually needs 12-13 weeks to finish, but surprisingly yours looks quite done, probably due to high temps and early pollination. Glad to know the cobs you have done with early harvested buds have been as good or even better than the cobs made from fully ripe flowers. Curious to know your opinion about Mulanje as well.

Wish you are having a great trip, and all the best for 2020! ;)
Well I have aged both the Mulanje and the PH x Pan the same amount of time the Mulanje is a knock you out overwhelming high similar to Aces Malawi in effect.
But overall I prefer the Purple Honduras x Panama its much more euphoric and energetic.
Of course aging usually brings out the high over the stone so I will test them again at 6 months.
The last 2 pics are the same Mulanje cured differently.
I also have lighter cures of PH x P and they are also better than the Mulanje.

Well I have to be honest and say the early Mulanje high was lacking power harvested early so my current batch are going to given all the time they need.
I will post pics of how they look at the end of this week.
It will be week 9 I hope to take them to 12 if I can.

Hello Tangwena. In reference to your photos above - my cobs have turned out looking similar to your third picture. How could I make them more like your fourth picture? Would binding less tightly help? Thank you.

Hi my friend the darker cobs are usually the more stony narcotic feeling cobs but that depends on the strain of course.
To get the lighter more colorful type they need to be slightly drier and only sweat them at around 40c for around 12 hours just get the sweat happening then remove them from the heat source.

I usually ferment/cure them at an ambient temp of between 28 to 35c for a week then dry the moisture until they feel dry on the outside but are still slightly moist inside.
Do this weekly for 3 to 4 weeks re sealing them to cure after each drying.

What makes them darken and ferment is the moisture coupled with the heat applied.
All buds react differently ie dense sticky buds react different to light airy buds.

You need to keep an eye on the color changes once you see the colors you want dry them fully to stop or slow down further changes.

Cooler temps will also slow the change in color.
Its just a matter of playing with the three variables moisture content, sweating and temps.
There is no end to the variations you can achieve once you get into it just remember what works on a sativa bud will be different to what works on a kush bud.

Use your eyes and nose watch the changes and dont be a afraid to open the bags anytime to sniff the changes in aroma at a given color change.
Your nose knows, the sweet fermented smell of a correctly sweated and cured cob is so mind blowing you will be in no doubt when you hit that sweet spot.
Its best described as a sweet fruity or floral hashish smell that deepens with age to become quite dark and deep but always you can tell its ganja.
