high monster

Those pictures are almost too big. At least they've got plenty of detail!
They are indeed very dark you dont want to ferment them any more for sure. Thanks @Tangwena I appreciate your time and willingness to help! I unwrapped 2 of the cobs to get a better look at the progress.
First two pics are the smallest one at about 30 grams starting weight. Very sticky and dark. Smell is a deep skunk and something I can't put my nose on. I didn't smell anything that would make me think things have gone south.
Last two pics are of a bigger one, maybe about 40 grams, this one was inside a fresh corn husk (which now looks identical to the dried and packaged husks). It's all the same plant so smells are the same. Very uniform appearance on the outside, stems and leaves that were there have all but disappeared.
I think I'm heading in the right direction. Maybe give them all a few more days and then start pulling one each day and start curing.
This has been very interesting for me. As soon as I saw this method I knew I had to try it. I can't hardly wait until they're done! Thanks again to everyone, @Tangwena for sharing in the first place and all of the people who have shared their experiences!
Thanks! I think I should have let them dry more after the initial sweat. As long as they don't go bad I'll be ok with anything, it was my plan to get varying levels of cobness. These all sweated at ~107°F/41°C for between 12 and 36 hours. If I make more with drier material, would you stay at that temp or go higher? With absolutely no idea what I'm doing, I was going to try it at 130/55...
Yes I call it after glow.. if it’s to wet you glow it to charcoal.. I did it last year with the first cob as well. But it was not lacking in potencydry more after the initial sweat
very useful information!Yes I call it after glow.. if it’s to wet you glow it to charcoal.. I did it last year with the first cob as well. But it was not lacking in potency
Find your way use your intention
What is it from?
Here are the last two cobs for this season.
This first one I added a bit of brown sugar as I loaded and compressed...I'll let yas know in a month or two!!!
Then an "Unsweetened".....
]
Then into the Sweat Box...
It will be interesting to see if there are any differences of each cob!!
Oh, as if I could keep quiet!!!!I'm really interested to know as to whether the added sugar had any effect on the high.
24 hrs sweating is what causes the dark colors either no sweating or say 6 hrs max just to get the changes started is what I use these days.I made one more cob. The buds were much drier this time, but things definitely have happened during the sweat (wound up at 116f/47c for about 24hrs). Going to let this one dry out more and not so hot during the ferment, and see if it'll keep it from turning so dark. View attachment 18914628
The other cobs are firming up and the skunk smell has somewhat dissipated, now it's a very sweet smell, like you might think a sweet chewing tobacco would smell like if it was made from ganja. Very sticky! View attachment 18914630
Thanks @Tangwena for all your help! You've convinced me to make at least one more (didn't take much convincing haha!)! I'm definitely trying to get a good spectrum of cobness. After the last one it seems like there's still plenty of time to experiment.24 hrs sweating is what causes the dark colors either no sweating or say 6 hrs max just to get the changes started is what I use these days.
If they are dark like that I would dry very slowly and go straight to aging to preserve the aroma.
I will be interested in the effects compared to the dry bud jar cured its going to change thats for sure.
