If you want great taste and smell . Try using Canna Boost. Excellent .!!!!

I already use it... even if it is a little expensive for my taste

Some pics of a shiny Malawi at 8 weeks 12/12. I liked this one a lot, it isn't very stretchy and it produces a great amount of resinous flowers.

Canna boost works best applied as a foliar, it is also far more efficient/cheaper

Are you spraying Boost on flowering plants!! ?? Don't know if I would be wanting to wet big dense buds . I use it right up too harvest . Most of the time less than half strength . With much improved taste , smell and vigour in flower .

No, before flower.

After a few years outdoors I was surprised at just how much rain some bud could take, I had some excellent weed that had "enjoyed" 8 inches of rain in one hour. Wet buds can certainly test your stem strength, but many varieties can take a lot more than you would expect. However I don't spray anything on flowering plants that I don't want to smoke later, so that means nothing....

I am spraying them weekly anyway. Just neem and soap to keep spider mites under a limit.

I think they are maturing quite fast... so I've started watering with PK. They will be 9 weekers in three days, and I think that some of them will be ready in less than 11 weeks. Other plants may need 12.

I'll take some macro shots in some days, to check maturity.

MALAWI STUDS

MALAWI STUDS

Hi
I've crossed my Malawi males with a selected clone of Mextiza.
I've uploaded some pictures of this fantastic Mextiza plant that I love. I believe the mix can be extraordinary. A 9 weeker very strong pure sativa with some new african genes!

Pregnant branch:

I'm already eager to grow them.
I've had some problems growing Mextiza indoors due to its thin stems, but nothing has ever compared to her outdoors here in the wet weather I live. It is the only pure sativa I've been able to finish correctly here, and one of the best smokes ever.

I do believe that Malawi is easier to grow indoors, but the weather here might be a problem for her. November is too much for my rainy cloudy weather. So I think I'll grow the Malawi/Mextiza (M&M's?) seeds indoors and after selecting the best I'll try it outdoors. Outdoors weed have always been more aromatic and satisfaying.

Cheers

Macro shot

Macro shot

A picture I've just taken. It is one of the malawi at 9 weeks. There isn't any dark trichome but there are many cloudy.

The others are similar in maturation, resin shines white under the lights.

Nice . Mine stayed cloudy for a while before I saw any Amber .How much longer do you think ?

11 weeks... maybe some days more to mature the seeds. I've heard that it is better well matured, but for this first grow I think I could harvest them in 10 weeks. I grow in coco, so things go a little faster here.

Cheers

Hi Carraxe,

i also have 2 malawi flowering now. You said, if i remember well yours didn't stretch that much, and mine do the same. Same stretch as an indica dom strain, the only ones that did stretch a little more were the males, but nothing to tame like i thought. I'm gonna take a few cuttings if i can afford to widespread the strain for a next grow.

Very nice Carraxe,

Your Malawis are developing big and resinous flowers despite the spider mites. They look like will mature in a very reasonable time from seed. The macros are lovely :)

I'm glad you are using Malawi for your own breeding projects.
I indeed love the Oaxacan in Mextiza. Hopefully Malawi adds the vigor, yield and thicker stems you are looking for, it should boost the peak of potency too.

Best wishes for the end of the harvest and upcoming selections with the hybrid.

Effect

Effect

Hi

After some weeks I can say that the Malawis hit. Buds are resinous and hard for a pure sativa. Smell is a little unspiring, but the taste is not bad.

Growing was quite easy, they didn't stretch that much and luckily their branches stayed pointing upwards... unlike other sativas indoors. And the plants were quite homogeneous.

:good:

Well done ACE!!

I don't have pics now, sorry. The buds carry lots of very little flowers and they have a lot of trichomes. I have to wait some more weeks to make a complete rating but I can say for sure the smell is subtle, a mixture between flowers and something unpleasant. It doesn't recall old oil for me, but surely it feels like old and dead.

Still, not much smell, and some of the plants don't smell at all. And the flavor is quite OK, some friends liked the effect and the flavor very much.

I believe that the yield is little if compared with the standard indoor strains. Anyway I didn't weigh it so I don't really know. But the bud surprised me, it isn't as airy as I expected.

Cheers

I have 2 females growing from seeds, flowering at 10 weeks since 12/12. 2 phenos, one with very dense buds, quite short, and one very lanky with a lot of very airy buds. Both are very sticky, and it's true that the trichomes are big. From naked eye, you can see they are bigger than on other strains. The shortest pheno could be harvested soon i think, but i'll wait till swollen calyxes.
I saw some sterile bananas but i don't care.
