I'd say about another 7-8 weeks at least.
Damn oldbootz, so these are just getting started. How should I feed them for the rest of the way, I have been getting some expert feeding advice from other growers here, so any from you is welcome. how is life in Africa? Have you grown any of this inside or do you do everything outside? Must be nice to have that African climate. I looked at your journal, man just the bestest. Everything you did in that was perfection.

six weeks to go? feeding question

six weeks to go? feeding question

I am about to do a flush and I was at 1.5 ec, so I guess I'll just go from !.5 to 1.0 by end of this week and stay there for a few weeks and then drop to zero for the last two weeks and final flush.

Vaping? Joint, Pipe or Vape?

Vaping? Joint, Pipe or Vape?

i have arguments all the time about vaping, so I will just throw this out there, do you get higher on joints, pipe or vape? Is the vape a placebo? Opinions?:dance013:

Joints i have never gotten high vaping but a joint right after trying to vape gets me higher than a j by itself. Vaping with cheap vaporizers is no good and the good ones are too expensive luckily you will get fucked up no matter what because your smoking malawi soon. Joints and pipe the pipe makes the weed last longer and you get resin for rainy days so i choose pipe over wasteful joints and you got longer flowering malawis no ten weekers more like 13 14 minimum

I love a good joint for when I'm out and about or out in the back yard.

In the evening I usually pull out a small pipe. Here are a couple of the simple form I like best. The bowls on this pair consist of silver wire wrapped around a mandrel and then silver brazed solid. They are only about 10 mm across and 15-17mm deep. This lets me just put in small hits so that the smoke is always that sweet fresh hit.

one day into week nine of light change
There is your problem my friend start counting from the time you see flowers starting not the light change.
They can take 3 weeks to start flowering sometimes and thats not included in your calculations.
Just sit back and let those babies fill out, you are going to have masses of buds from the look of those plants.
That looks like only the first or second flush of flowering there is a ways to go yet ha ha

Thanks for dropping in Tangwena. What is your feeding method for the last weeks? They started showing at week four. They are still mighty green. It is week nine since light change, so about 5 weeks since they started showing buds. What is a good NPK mix for this period, 1-5-4 or 2-2-3? The feed method is my big question because I want to bring these in right, also, if you see anything else that needs investigating let me know. Thanks for the help, it is invaluable.

my plan

my plan

I've looked at all of the posts here for Malawi, and there is a lot of info except glaringly, how the growers fed their plants through the end weeks. I mean did they keep the nitrogen up till the end, did they cut it back at a certain time, how much, and what mix of NPK at the end? This is my first landrace grow. So I will wing it. Tangwena said "I can only tell you what I would do and that's stop feeding them or slowly reduce the feeding to zero". So I will reduce the light to help with maturity, and lower the ec to about .5, and feed every third watering or so till about two weeks till harvest ( whenever that is) and then just ph'd water.

Check out Terpenes grows he has them dialed in. I just just wing it like you, feed them to get them going, then slowly withdraw the nutes till they are begging at the cut.
These are going to produce heaps if they are so fat now. I hope to get mine that fat on my next grow.
These plants are just so vigorous they just go for it when they like your set up.

Well done TW666,
Follow Tangwena and your gut with it. I would take out all N at this point. Lower PK til final flush of pure ph'd water. You will see the plant change up and swell in the final two weeks. But always worth it as a bounty harvest awaits your hard work n patience! Happy growing!

lots of buds

lots of buds

I was watering and started reaching down in the canopy and there were so many big ass buds and branches that had gotten so heavy they fell over and I didn't see them, I'm going to need a lot of plant braces in the coming weeks. I will post some new pics Sunday night.
That will be the beginning of week ten of light cycle, day 63. The Chem is going to be removed this next week, it is almost ready. I will then have a lot of room to spread the Malawi out and rangle them.

how bout a 1-5-4 npk mix for the next couple weeks and then drop em? I feed every other watering and I water when the lights come on and a couple hours before they go off. From the look of the leafs I have been having some ph issues. I need to find a food that is not a ph inhibitor. The Botonicare grew the shit out of them but still cheap shit. Maybe i'll make my own next time. know where i can get a good grow/bloom recipe?

Greetings TW666,
Sounds like a plan as you wrote. At least keep your eye on them with it. You have a day gap inbetween feeds so that is good to give you and plant
adapt.
Ph changes on leaves are minor things but great observations for the next run. I am using two main nutes
In coco I run Canna Coco A&B plus some Canna Buffer Agent each feed. Some Nirvana from Advanced is the other item I add.
When I grow in soil I found BAC nutes very nice.
Now I have tried several Ace plants I now am planning soil grows with them. Bio Canna and Canna seedling soil to get things going.
That is just my prefereances over past few years indoors non stop growing. Before that I was outdoors and made own super soil and teas.
This IC Mag has lots of great recipes and links for nutes. Give them a try.
Happy growing!

more pics, the buds are turning colors, and still getting fatter. My camera is just a phone cam so I guess this is the best I can get for natural light. I'll take some tonight with the cmh lights on, but these are to show color.
