Update

Hello Groovy!

Keep us updated on the progress of your Vietchunk,- good luck with the further grow!

Alfred:

The Vietchunk is now finishing in my indoor growroom.

I am VERY busy at the moment, but in about a week I´ll have(hopefully..) enough time and patience to finally give her the cut.

I even guess that the extra time is a good thing to optimize the THC and Cannabinoid levels.

There are still a lot of clear trichomes, but the overall look of the plant is allready calling out:

"Come and harvest me!"

Peace,

spice

Sounds good !! i hope this plant kick your head :rasta: . Some days ago one friend give me a good new, when i have the vietnam plants, i spread a lot of cuts of the mum in the islands, and now this cuts come back to me :jump: , but the problem is that i lost the DC male. I like so much this male because was very good to cross with sativa females :badday: Also we are thinking about this F1. The introduction of this pure indica in the vietnamese strain has produced plants with short flowering time than pure vietnam. Also we can smell the chunk when the weed burns. But the production has fallen in comparison to the mother. i´m thinking in made a new F1 using this momma with a Pine Tark Kush ( dark blue pheno ), and compare the results on predominance, this ptk is a very big yielder, what are you thinking about it?could be interesting ??

Peace friends :rasta:

Sad news!

Sad news!

I had to leave the garden unsupervised for about one week.

This was enough time to make a light spider mite problem EXPLODE and completely ruin the Vietchunk.

It was attacked so hard by spider mites that I had to toss the entire plant in the garbage.

Never experienced something like this before.

A few days were enough to make the plant look like it was in a fucking cocoon.

Those little crawling bastards were everywhere, even deep inside the buds. :badday:

What a pitty,- those buds were HUGE.

But: Don´t cry over spoiled milk.

I allready plan a fresh Vietchunk grow!

Strange thing is that the other plant(High Sierra from Marksurfs) wasn´t attacked at all.

(Is it normal for spider mites to only attack certain plants?)

No mites visible on this plant, but quite a lot of white flies.

The smell and bud shape/density of the High Sierra is top notch,- definitely gonna grow this one again.

Unfortunately it´s worthless to reveg a plant that allready had a white flies problem, but I have a few beans left and maybe I can find a pheno similar to this one.

By the way: I wish you all a Merry Christmas!

post scriptum:

Should I be worried about future spider mite problems in my indoor room and what should I do to prevent them?

I will of course clean the whole room, and maybe use some natural enemies(I mean those beneficial insects) to keep possible survivors under control?

sad scby !!
fuckin spiders , i hate them ....
dicifol works well but is quite toxic !
in fact i won the spider mite fight way after i stopped to put products on my plants : the only thing that worked here is a definitive change of environement (like -10°c )

here the vc is doing good , not so fast to flower but quite resinous, will show pics pretty soon !

I think that is a great idea. I made one out cross with the PTK and it turned out to be a huge yielder of big green & purple PTK nugs.

sory for the delay i was quite busy

so here come pics of the vc at day 40 and then 64
the smell is super acid
i think she will go to atleast 75 days

sorry if this has already been answered as i havent read the entire post through but how are the VC doing outside and what time to expect for finish, if possible at all outside in a nordic climate?

i have some VC's around but havent had opportunity to grow them inside yet and probably wont for some time so im thinking maybe growing them outside this season in a greenhouse?

I'm glad I stumbled across this thread. I've always had an interest in breeding old school and landrace genetics. I plan on doing the same as you Alfred, thanks for the inspiration and hard work.

Peace,

Not sure if she's still out there. Great work alfred. This plant is still my favorite smoke. Beautiful sativa skyrocketing high and growth but finishes in 8-9 wks.

Here's one that needed two more weeks for her calyx's to plump and finish in her glorious magenta coat.

I just ordered some deep chunk to back up my stock with some dc x vc seeed.

I also crossed dusted her with some nycd pollen which only formed one seed (whatever I guess) . She's beautiful too. Skinnier leaf than her mom. Can't wait to see her in final bloom.

Just want to thank you again alfred. You have found me my strain.

Has anybody worked more the vietchunk making f2, a backcross or something? I've made some f2 for sharing with the people and make something interesting... I sent some seeds to the creator because alfred had lost it...

Please all contributions to the thread will be appreciated
