Making Salt Water Drinkable Just Got 99 Percent Cheaper

good stuff, only problem is the owners... if they feel like, they can sell the tech for a price, which won't really make a huge difference in comparison to already used desalination tech. hence one way or the other, water IS being privatized faster than ever. but once again the wealthy present it to us sheeple in a way, we feel it's not happening... o what a joy...

blessss
ps.: aren't there still to many concerns in using nanotech? supposedly them buckey balls are readily uptaken by living organisams -> what a great idea, using such material to create a water filter... remove salt but add some nanoparticles/tubes :/

more reinventing the wheel .... big sigh. check this though;

did you all know there has been solar powered technologies since Before cars were on the road?
did you know in the late 1800's a full loaded train ran across france in average weather, entirely powered by the Sun?
did you know in the early 1900's a completely solar Power Plant was built in egypt and operated with ease/no problems?

As with many of tesla's inventions (and countless other brilliant men and women), the upcoming Oil industry committed Assasination of public mind ....
This time they convinced everyone oil based fuel sources would remain cheap indefinitely, this alone pushed out All economic interests electric vehicles and More Importantly....
....budda bu bum bum bummmm ....

SOLAR STEAM

Sun rays reflected/focused onto boilers. boilers feed steam engines. underground tanks keep the majority of water warm at night so re-start in the morning is as fast as possible with no outside fuel as a pre-heater.

Steam? isn't that DANGEROUS ??? well, not really at all. safety features are simple, so simple middle school shop classes can build safe working steam engines (and do in some places) from hardware-store pipes/supplies.

Did you know nuclear power plants, are only creating Heat, which is used to Make STEAM ? which then turns turbines to generate brute force and in turn, electricity. ... such complex and dangerous fuel just to make Heat, which we get for free every sunny day, in over-abundance at that. pretty silly eh.

but what does that have to do with water purification?

...well using the same concept, one can build a 100% Sun Powered Steam Distillation Units (adequate for saline/oceanic waters) that run without hand operation all day every day..... constantly making clean drinking water with the simplest energy tech there is in use today.
here's icing on the cake, these systems can be made Entirely of recycled/reclaimed materials common in most regions. as a large economic project, the inputs are even less.

if you've read this much, pick yourself a copy of "A Golden Thread" ... and you'll never view the world (or, atleast, Energy) the same way again.

... in short solar steam is more efficient, require less energetic input to create harnessing devices (completely recycled materials compared to 100% new materials with modern 'solar panels' who have shorter lifespan), AND is safer than Petrochemicals/hydrocarbons and Nuclear energies ....

we could literally be building solar steam turbines (and solar sterling engines) that power refrigeration units .... fully automated solar powered Ice Berg Builders ... we could literally save the ice caps with hardly any energy input. we could be generating the majority of suburban/rural power on peoples rooftops alone.

as is the same with growing hemp, anyone can build a solar steamer... for clean water OR power generation.
because of the true Freedom it can bring, the powers that be (the ones who create/dictate the framework of modern lifestyle) have done everything they can to make people forget about it.

something to think about

is that picture moving or is it just me??

lol that shit IS moving.

A significant portion of the world's population lives within 100 miles of the ocean....

just sayin

It also tends to (obviously not everywhere) rain more closer to the ocean. Should we pile the rest of the world on to that significant portion?

Check out solar desal being done in saudi arabia/uae. It just can't keep up with demand currently. It's not practical. It's a step in the right direction, but for it to be of use we have to seriously rethink how we use water.

I think some people are thinking that this might save THEM from a lack of water. Honestly, most of us don't even really need to worry about it that much. We live in canada, usa, europe for the most part. We are not the ones bearing the brunt of this anyway. It's the other people we should worry about. Almost half of the world lives on less than $2.50 a day. I'm sure this will save the day when betchel, vivendi, and rwe thames show up peddling their wares.

Gotta wonder if this will ever even come to market.Too many money and power mad rich elites who want to control and profit from providing water. Can't have the common man filtering his own drinking water without a profit going into someones pocket.

well said :tiphat:

If this is true....it will be one of the most important technological developments of all time. Think about it...water means life, no water means death, simple as that. The amount of water in the oceans is so fucking huge that humans wouldn't put even a nick in the total. Water, as we move into the future and the world population continues to grow, will eventually be the cause of big, maybe world, wars. If this new development is true and works it will basically take away the upcoming water wars. Fucking huge.

I will definitely be buying some stock in whatever company ends up selling this stuff.

that's a good idea. buying stock cuz your right, this is a life changer.
