Doors x Ohaze #2 - absolute beast. This is going to be my keeper from these three phenos based soley on her effect. It’s time to part ways with the other two. Already pushing out the black pepper and spices terps that I love so much. Huge colas and she stretched over 10x, also the slowest of the three to mature. Her high is like herbal cocaine, will wake you up and get you going. Breaking it out a party results in everyone blabbing like meth heads. She’s known as “Chatty Kathy” in my circle. Finishes around 11-12 weeks from clone. She’s more sensitive to nitrogen than the others but oddly enough can handle higher overall EC. You can see she’s got a wee bit of clawing going on. They were all feeding off one res though…. so I had to make compromises.

7 weeks today on the 3 Doors x Ohaze phenos Ive been running for about a year.

Pheno #1 - most frosty by far, stacks from the bottom up but still ripens from the top down. The fastest with the least stretch too. Her high is a pyschedelic stone that has plenty of body to it. Finished fast around 8-9 weeks from clone
Holy shit @OZZ_!

Talk about an Haze "hash plant". What a stunner, and masterful work keeping her so dialled in.

Funny you prefer #2. Effect is really an invisible trait. That's how it goes, nice bunch!

Nice work bringing these together once again @MadMac.

Thanks brother! The effect on #2 is just something really special. A clear headed social high that is very stimulant in nature. It has a synergistic effect with booze too and gets even more stimulatory. Great great party weed. I love it!

#1 is potent in its own way but the density to her turns me off for what this cross should be imo. With that said though, this is probably my best grow of them to date so I will thoroughly smoke test all three before making a final decision.

Also…. Keep in mind #1 is being flushed now while #2 has at least 4 more weeks to go so frost will pickup towards the end on her.

#1 is photogenic for sure. Best bag appeal too but I look at it like this. If I were to loose all three of them today, which one would I miss? That would be undeniably #2 for her effect. No question.

Doors x Ohaze #1:
resin amount is amazing and your description sound like the Doors pure -> but the best pheno.. that i'll used from the 8 gils i'll got...
Doors x Ohaze #2
she has it all.... :)
resin and bud structure ... yes she is a keeper only from seeing her...
looks a lot like the OHz mother...
love those small dreads ... but still kind of hard bud's .. not fluffy @ all
the high description sound like my goal for the high i'm after...
love this social positive up high... like you can kiss the world...
but still clear enough to get my coding and work done...
if i'll have lot's of work... eg. programming & graphic work...
i'll smoke most of time my OHz ... that keep's me up and creative... find solutions with a breeze ;-)
and on party it's everyone's fav... also girls love it... but they talk like chicken after 😆
Doors x Ohaze #3
typical inbreed problem with nanners...
OHz is absolute stable... in all conditions... checked it out a few times...
but strong inbreed strains where they used F2- ~ or later is not good... for high and so...
buds and plants looking fancy and with general breeding technics easy to accomplish ...
but the high lacks... that is what happend today... it's all a stone high... 1 dimensional...
OHz fixed that... most of the time... and bx to OHz again ... best reversed OHz is the way to get most of it...

@MadMac ….. I wanted to ask you, and anyone else here too that might have knowledge on the subject. Have you ever seen completely different morphologies coming out of the same clone in different growing conditions??

Check this out, I’m very confused by this. Here is Doors x Ohaze pheno #1 when I grew her in soil. You can see she actually has quite a good bud structure and morohologically she forms actual buds, and actual colas on her primary leads…. btw I know I’ve posted these photos earlier in the thread but I want to repost them here to illustrate what I’m talking about:

C00F7CDD-AAB5-4296-BD47-92D900E106FB.jpeg

84BA4E2E-8D62-495F-9591-68FA235D8885.jpeg

Here is a video I posted to my IG showing a clone off the same mother plant, but grown in autopots with hydro nutes. She has a completely different structure, unrecognizable in fact from when the previous clone was grown in soil. Instead of top colas and buds she throws single foxtails off the main stem and her top “colas” are single calyx formations that looks much more haze like than the previous soil grow.

As a side note you can see her frost and resin levels are markedly higher …. And I’m not saying one is better than the other …but I’m more interested in how she is expressing herself in a completely different manner. Doesn’t even look like the same plant. Anyone else had this happen?

Doors x Ohaze #3 - Mango haze pheno. Smells of overripe mangos in the jar. Not as dense POI as pheno #1 but no where near as clear and energetic as #2. Throws a nanner or two towards the end of flowering. Finishes around 9-10 weeks from clone.

yes i'll know also a little bit...
let me tell ya what happend when i'll tried out sweet soil... or changing Cal and Mag
all haze hybrids disliked it... they got different bud structure and also less yield...
i'll testet the soil and PH was above 7 ... also way to much Cal...
i'll did it because on the OHz Poster it's noted that they like sweeter soil...
true but i've overdone it... and just a little bit over and bam... did it 3 times until i'll believed ...
other bad results i'll had with coco and A+B mix... i'll never got it right and
in your case... me think that the PH is too low for satvia leaning strains...
SamS and others said not above 7PH and not below 6PH for haze hybrids...
i'll have sweet tap water with PH7 but i'll use BioBizz Light mix that has around 6 PH...
i've read on the topic about PH level and optimal plant intake...
and there is a huge difference between indica and sativa...
most indica on market are also some generations adapted to hydro while non sativa is adapted that i'll know... some hybrid like NevilHaze work well but those with more than 50% haze have issues...
also landrace don't work well in hydro with low PH ...
i'll do the same as you with my next grow... but use Soil instead of coco...
i'll know cost more and is dirty but to me those sativa strains do best in soil...
they are not adapted to hydro...
to me medium und PH are most important for good buds when growing sativas...
medium... more roots = bigger buds ...

i'll have this one now:
FlexiPot_12_System_AQ5.jpg

and this guide is good ... but there are more..

the soil is also a good buffer... if you overdo the feeding for example...
think summer you will see the results ;-)

@OZZ_ … I know a little bit about the subject and I’ve ran clones from other plants that I determined were keepers and they either get better or they get worse after several generations that’s been my experience at least

Thanks guys for the input guys! It’s hugely appreciated!!

Interesting stuff and thats great information.

I could be wrong about this, but I’m skeptical that it is PH related, for a few different reasons.

I know that we are all aware that PH in coco vs soil is vastly different. Recommended PH ranges for flower in coco are 5.8-6.2 with soil being between 6.2-7.

….. but it gets further compounded in the autopots (with coco). I learned this the hard way.

The res PH and the medium PH **in the autopot system using coco** are not the same.

For me, and in my system …. a res PH of 5.5-5.6 equals a medium ph of around 5.8-5.9 …. Right in the sweet spot for coco. I’ve tested this extensively.

I consistently get the beginnings of lockout on ALL plants Indica or Sativa with a res PH of 5.8 or higher, even though the manufacturers of autopots say you should set it to 5.8-6.2. I have had this happen on numerous occasions and in fact on one of these Doors x Ohaze clones as well as a previous Malawi. Both got locked out at a **res** PH of 5.8. A res PH of 5.8 equals around a 6.2 in the medium. It’s always about a half a point higher in the medium.

In the beginning when I started using autopots I set my ph to 5.9-6.0 as recommended by the manufacturer, all plants locked out hard on me and after testing the medium PH was 6.4 in the coco, way higher than allowed.

I do understand though that ph in soil is best between 6-7. In my soil grows I typically shoot for 6.5-6.6ish.

So I’m skeptical it is PH but I do understand where you are coming from, it has to be something 🤣🤣🤣🤷‍♂️

Check this out, here is the doors x Ohaze #1 clone grown in organic soil with a PH of 6.5-6.6 same pictures I posted above.

Unfortunately I cannot find the full plant shot at this moment, but she developed like any other normal cannabis plant with the tops of the main leads forming colas and the bottom of the plant forming your typical “lowers”

Now, here is the same Doors x Ohaze #1 clone grown in autopots, in coco with a reservoir PH of 5.6 putting the medium around 5.8-5.9, with liquid nutrients. The same photos I posted on the previous page.

You can see she has taken on a different form…. One that I have seen in other pure haze phenos. The bulk of her flower formations are down low and they are beautifully filled out and with heavy resin production and as you move up the plant she starts forming individual foxtails coming off the main stem. It’s hard to see exactly because of her foilage.

…. Here is a THH x Ohz i grew last year in soil, ph 6.5-6.6. Im posting her for illustration purposes because this Doors x Ohaze #1 pheno has now taken on the same shape and flowering pattern as this THH x Ohaze plant. You can see the bulk of her flowers is down low, and as you move up the main branches she starts forming individual foxtails

2D579B08-F378-423D-A4AA-D8F5960843E9.jpeg

Here is a flower taken from the middle portion off of one of her leads…. You can see the individual foxtails coming off the main stem.

22B1153F-A356-4D08-AB5A-7887D156B0BD.jpeg

This Doors x Ohaze #1 clone is now growing exactly this same way now that it’s in coco with hydro nutes, whereas before in soil with organic nutes it had a more standard flowering structure. It doesn’t matter to me one way or the other, and personally TBH this grow in coco with hydro nutes she appears to have come out much much better. Resins are off the charts and her terpines are noticeably more pronounced than the previous grow in soil. I know everyone loves organic soil and I do too, I grew that way for over a decade …. But potency, resins and terpines are off the charts on everything I’m growing these days doing it this way….. but thats a conversation for a different time probably and I’m opening a can of worms by even mentioning that I’m sure 🤣🤣🤣

Anyway, I just thought it was interesting that the same clone has developed a completely different flowering structure by growing in one medium vs another.

Thanks again guys for the conversation on this topic and to you MadMac for sharing these genetics! I’ve had a hell of a great time getting to know them!! 🤙🤙🤙

I am open to hear everyone’s thoughts, hope I didn’t come off as otherwise…. I just wanted to clarify the above information. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with the way she’s growing now, just commenting that it’s very different than when she was in soil. Thanks again everyone! 🙏

What kind of soil will you be using in that autopot system? Home made or do you use a commercial soil??

I guess it wouldn’t hurt to try a clone of #1 in soil for shits and giggles and see the difference. I would probably just use promix HP, some worm castings, a little kelp, lime, azomite and crab shell meal. I think I still have boxes if it out in the garage.

Maybe I’ll give it a shot that would be a great way to see. 👍

a mix... us BioBizz Light Mix as foundation... and some mycrorizza for good roots... perlite... and some living soil from my own... it's ready now... had to start from scratch after the problems 2 years ago...
maybe later will try with coco but don't have @ moment...
and the discussion about coco or soil... hehe it all depend on setup and nutrients ...
i'm sure you can get with booth same results once you dial it proper in...
than coco is easier... but did not find a good method until now...
soil is more work but has this magic buffer... that helps lazy growers to get good results ;-)
with indicas is coco much better... faster and easier... but sativas are different...
maybe you should ask the owner from: https://bionovanutrients.com/
he is a haze head too and has this special for long flowering mixture...
that i'll use since 3 years with superb results...

don't know any other company who has special food for long flowering...
ahh forgot... the salts build easy up in coco... that's a problem after 10 weeks... before not ... ;-)

That long flowering mix with the PK looks wonderfully easy. That’s one thing I am currently working on, trying to adjust my current nutes to long flowering Sativas needs. I love my current nute line, it’s the best I’ve ever used….. but it definitely has too much nitrogen for sensitive Sativas so I’m working on adjusting the ratios to a solution with less nitrogen. Maybe I’ll see if I can source that bionova in the US, looks like it’s a UK company

In my living soil mix I also use biobizz as starting substrate instead of coco just out of practicality. Then I go adding kelp meal, neem cake, calcium sulfate and others, finally live worm casting and mycorrhizae.

Recently I've been considering a mineral + living soil combination and your suggestion @MadMac is pretty along those lines. You're using this long flowering mineral mix from Bionova in your living soil? Nice to see the compatibility between both "worlds" and improved results.

You prefer it to the previous all organic feeding approach?

Yes :)
before i'll used the Biobizz line and was also very happy...
but Bionova has some advantage for long flowering ...
i'll gave it a go and it works superb' ... love also there other stuff...
use this chart:
Bildschirmfoto 2023-03-07 um 12.27.13.png

VitaSol makes it much more tasty and smell nice @ the end...
use there Microlife and Profimix to fresh up used soil... works also very well...
love the separate P & K ... that help's not to build up salts after 12 weeks +

You prefer it to the previous all organic feeding approach?
yes... have more control over P & K ... and that made the difference...
also soilbed works wonders... if the roots can communicate and share...

they all share the same soil bed

ahh forgot also one important thing...
soil temp and room temp...
for example most pure sativa especially OHz shoots over 26°C room temp...
soil or medium temp should also not to high or above 18°C and not to low under 14°C...
had trouble with cold basement ground... after isolating all was much better... nute intake ...
too hot like in my Cupboard and they behave also strange and have problems...

Yes :)
before i'll used the Biobizz line and was also very happy...
but Bionova has some advantage for long flowering ...
i'll gave it a go and it works superb' ... love also there other stuff...
use this chart:

VitaSol makes it much more tasty and smell nice @ the end...
use there Microlife and Profimix to fresh up used soil... works also very well...
love the separate P & K ... that help's not to build up salts after 12 weeks +

yes... have more control over P & K ... and that made the difference...
also soilbed works wonders... if the roots can communicate and share...

they all share the same soil bed

breeding... front left Col. Black ... my best from a pack

16 weeks NL5 x A5Haze also in soilbed...

Thanks for all the kindness M. It's really helpful crossing data with you.

As per your suggestion, the (Tangie x OHz) x OHz will soon see the lights, couple cycles further. Can't contain the urge to pop them no more.
Will apply some changes to nutrient schedule, namely trying that long flowering mix from Bionova. It seems like a great opportunity to explore mineral + organic approach, which I've been wanting.

See you soon!

Doors x Ohaze #1 came down today at 60 days with nearly no clear, 5-10% amber with the rest being swollen and cloudy.

I’m going to have to keep this gal around along with #2 as well. I’ll be letting pheno #3 go after this grow. Can’t keep them all and I still have more beans to go through

Thats come out very nice....looks very good.....almost reminds me of one or two of the older good jack herer phenotypes....very similar leaf shape and build, colour and shine on the leaves...although different bud structure an alot more slimmer..more sort of taller stretching......looks nice though....when your ready a smoke report would be great (if you haven't already) if you can please..
