Macro Photography

AWESOME pics everyone!!

Are there any good online tutorials for macros? I'll just google iit, but do any of u have any favorite photo sites that u wouldn't mind passing on? I have a Canon SD550 & I'm pretty sure it can do soome decent macros....i just haven't figured it out yet. These are the best I have...some previously bagged Lemon Kush.

That Lemon Kush wasn't grown by me. I put those pics up here cuz they were the best macros I had at that time. The Lemon Kush was purchased so it had probably been thru a few peoples pockets, etc...thus the resin heads are gone.....still schmoked damn fine tho

Again, any1 have any good macro tutorial sites to visit?

Some cannalopehaze from the dna boys

Next up we have djshorts F13, last time i shot these they were showing quite a bit of purple in the capitate stalks of the trichome. Here is an update about a week later.

This next one was called the GALACTIC BEAVER DOMINATOR. or GBD. I Thought it was quite nice indeed.

Here is the rene again, at four weeks of bloom. Here heads look good enough to smoke even now.

This little plant looked like nothing special, about two inches tall, and realy just a clone that ended up getting flowered. was spectacular under the macro> from the bud, its decent looking, but when you go closer.... (seedsmanhaze)

SFV og Kush, aka the dankkush as called by green supreme, something to do with the source not being a 100% sure if it was the sfv og kush, You let us know us.

Last and certainly not least is the special K, big ups to vision creator on his special K, a queen crossed with an afghanie i believe, maybe he can drop by and give us a little more info on that. Here they are...

notice the cystolith hairs and how they look to the naked eye to be the same colour as the gland heads. dont be fooled, these are non active just like the capitate stalks the gland heads sit on. Only the head is what we seek!!!

well thats it for now, hopefully in the near future i will have some more plants to shoot.

Thanks for posting those photos & link ilife, they maybe 25 years old but I still consider Joop's trichome macros "the benchmark".

bubbleman that seedsman haze has some exotic looking trics compared to the others you posted, very nice.

My contribution to the macro thread, some BKush trichomes. (blue background inspired by Joop)

stunning shots dr know, absolutely beautiful> I have yet to play around with backgrounds, but you have inspired me. Love the sharpness on your trichome shots.
Its only been 2 months since' i've been playing around with my new lens, and am having more and more fun everyday. What gear are you shooting with?
my set up is a canon 40D, mpe 65mm, Mt-24xt dual flash, and manfrotto tripod with a 410 gear head.

Thanks ilife I knew you would appreciate those, still not in the same league as Joop but I try.


bubbleman I'm in the opposite camp, I shoot with nikon gear. I used a couple different lenses for those pics a 90mm macro and a 20mm lens reversed on a bellows(20x mag), mounted on a tripod with D80 body & remote flash unit. I wish nikon made a lens like that 5x mpe, sic piece of glass man. I usually use colored poster board for my backgrounds, give it a try some time.

Does anyone know how to locate Joop Dumay or his art work? I would like to buy some of his pics but his website is no more. I bought some small pics a few years back in ams and would love to get a hold of some large ones.
