Niemand: That is classic dude! I had totally forgotton about the Commodore 64! That's a 64K memory desktop from the mid-80's! So amazing how this shit has taken over our lives.....!

Anyone figure out how to save a drawing from Appleworks to a '.jpg' file?

Failure so far:

1. Drag to iPhoto, can't convert from 'tif' filename
2. Cut/Paste to Textedit, can't convert from 'rtf' filename
3. Tried 'File>Export', but for some reason the image comes out reversed on the black and white, weird.

Anyway, somebody out there knows how to do this..........???

The drawing board awaits!

Thanks Verite... but it still didn't work, the converted file had the black and white reversed again though the original was a line drawing.

Other ideas? There must be a way to do this!

I'm using appleworks 6 and i can just select jpeg from the drop down in the save as dialog. Seems to work fine. If nothing else do a screenshot of the picture with shift+command+4 which will save a pdf to your desktop which should be easy to convert to anything.

I used to love macs, sold a bunch of em. The training at apple in chicago was really cool stuff, you mac guys would have liked the evangelistic aspects. I'm gonna think about going back to mac next comp. I think being on a mac would satisfy some of my anti society demons. Happy buds chaps.

fishingtime: Thanks, I FINALLY figured it out! I had been typing the file type in the SaveAs title. I haven't used Appleworks much for this kind of thing but SURE ENOUGH. Right there on the SaveAs box is a big ol' box that says FILE FORMAT with a drop down!

I feel like an idiot! Anyway, here's the goddam drawing I keep talking about. Its posted for my NGB/Bio-bucket cab thread.

While I agree with everything you said above it IS important to note that if you are a MAC ONLY user, even with the new Intel macs you can not run windoze.

YOU have to have a PC (or HAD a PC and kept the OS) They can not (apple) get you access to the OS and its not that easy to get "legally"... although that may change w/their new OSX lite OS due "any day now"!

Huh? All you need is a copy of Windows XP, Service Pack 2, Home or Professional and bootcamp to install windows.
