M39 aka Skunk1/Basic5 aka Skunk#1xNorthern Lights#5

CC do you think Aurora B from the flying Dutchmen would come up similar to M39 like shiva-skunk? It seems to be a similar cross.

Peace

I have my own suspicions about that... I'm ALMOST convinced they're the same, but I'll know for sure soon, since I'm flowering the M39 and Dabney at the same time... in a few weeks we'll know.

I can tell you this though, if they're NOT the exact same thing, they're so similar there's no point in having both. I REALLY hope Dabney is different, and has a more blueberry smell by finish. M39 can SURELY be labeled as smelling something like blueberries, but not the blueberry smell I'm looking for. I grew an NL Special from KC Brains years ago, THAT one had a real blueberry smell, unmistakeable for any other smell. I want a blueberry that smells like the one I grew all those years back. I won't be happy with ANY BB until it smells like that.

Iceman, Yes, it's a big, stout lady... I hear she's fantastic outdoors, I imagine she WOULD be. :) To get a real nice finish on her, you'll want to go about 9 weeks. She CAN be harvested early, and often IS because she gets so fat so early in flower. But the yield and taste aren't as nice as with a good finish.

T2U, bang roadkill? I've heard others say that too, but to me it's more of a general, sweet marijuana smell. There's certainly no doubt it's marijuana you're smelling, but I don't think of it as a genuine roadkill skunk smell. When she's still got a lot of fertilizer in her, she's much skunkier... so i guess it DOES bang the skunkiness through walls when growing, but once clean, she's very sweet-smelling.

Greetings Time2Unite.

There are at least three (3) distinct M-39 cuttings.

The first (most common) is the one grown in this thread. The second has shared phenotypic traits with the first, but has a more typical 'Skunk' (sweet) tone. It has been referred to as 'Super Skunk' or 'Supreme Skunk'. The third (quite rare), has a 'Sativa' like growth structure. It is a phenomenal yielder of medium green, red pistil, medium dense flower clusters. The smell is 'skunky', but instead of a perfumed undertone, the sub scent can best be described as musky (like the Ox) and earthy (like rich compost). This is the M-39 that was phased out, because growing it was akin to sending up flares to announce your illicit activity.

Sincerely,
Charles.

Greetings Crazy Composer

If offense was taken by my direct response to Time2Unite, I offer my apology in advance. It certainly was not my intent to derail this thread and the outstanding showcase it provides to cultivators interested in seeing a (relatively) difficult to acquire F1-hybrid. Kudos.

Sincerely,
Charles.

Hey CC,

Don't know how i missed this one. Been wanting to grow that cut for some years now. Glad to see you did a run with her. I've heard nothing but great things about her. Congrat's on the very nice grow. Sure does look like a nice haul and by the sounds of it. Sounds like your in for some killer smoke. Thanks for sharing your grow with us. You take care and nice to see you.
Later,
BG

Hello all!

Right... these ladies are all out in the garage, drying as I type. They should be testable by this evening. :)

To answer kusherberry's q about how she smokes... Well, GREAT! hehehe It's not the most potent stuff, but it IS potent, and especially tasty when harvested a certain way... RIPE, and can yield very nicely. She clones easily, can take a lot of nutrients, gets through veg fast... good plant. Only problem is, she can't always support her own weight. :)

I saved the top colas from this crop for the personal stash. :) I'll get pictures of them, dry, in a day or two. cc

Nice1s,bro!
The kickass M39 (Skunk#1/Basic (NL) 5 Clone that CC has done such a fine job with was grown strictly outdoors, for almost twenty years, before it was given to me a few years back, and I flipped it to indoor lighting.
This M Clone's the finest bulk-producer I've seen in twenty years.
It has great, thick mass, fine taste,it's an Old School,indica-dom smoke that's great for night time puffin' or chronic pain.

Cheers!
