I've got 2 lumatech dig 600 watters and love them so i just got in a order for 6 more. Not sure what the difference between lumatech and lumenace but the place where i got mine offered both.
Ive done 2 grows with the 2, just setting up with the new ones i just got in,
I used the 2 600's to replace a 1000hps on a 4x4 F&D table,i know its an extra 200 watts but the out come was a big difference
I have been conversing with bghydro about both lumatek and the lumanace products, which they carry both. Addressing the bulb burn out issues. They were going to attend a grow trade show this weekend and were going to be asking specific questions about the new releases of the Lumatek brand. I had asked about the bulb issues that I had read about. He said that both the Lumatek and Lumanace new releases will address the bulb issue and that the new release of the Lumatek will have a detachable courdset designed to work with Hydrofarm sockets and will also have bare wires available to wire to existing reflectors or sockets. I tried e-mailing the Lumanace people but they could not really tell me much because (thier reason) they do not sell to the general public only to resellers ...
Anywho bghydro rep also said that the existing Lumatek ballasts will work properly with the SunMaster series of bulbs. The reason for the research is I am shopping for two also. I will be e-mailing him again today to see what he learned this weekend. He was suppose to find out when the new model is coming out from Lumatek.
cool keep us informed , cant wait much longer on new room set up , the one thing i liked better about lumenace was that it had cord prewired so i wou=ldnt void that nice warrenty on day one , by wireing it
High guys! I ordered 4 ballast yesterday, 3 x 600w HPS and 1 x 400 HPS/MH, both 120v and digital, I got them from Hidhut if you are interested. Cost me 725 including shipping! Very nice price take a look at it if you want!
will do, I should get them next week and I'll test them and let you know. But i've been told by other members here that they are good and no interferance
I would like to know how those compare to other digatal ballasts. Look forward to a report on the quality of those Hidhut digital ballasts. The price appears good if the ballast performs as stated.
Stay away from future-brites... i need to start my own thread on this, but ill go into a few details here. I bought one, a 1000watter. Supposedly one of the first ones to hit california. P.O.S. What i thought was their "soft start technology" was actually a faulty ballast screwing up my $175 hortilux blue as it was firing it up, then turning it off... over and over for about three times till it stayed on... I must say, when it finally fired it was brighter than the sun in there... So painfully bright, you wouldnt go in there without sunglasses on... however, after two or three days, i noticed that it would continue to cycle on and off, on and off... So i called them... long story short, i mailed my ballst to future brite in ohio, they sent it back saying it was working fine, giving me an excuse that it might be west coast power fluctuations... all bullshit excuses... i got the thing back, it still didnt work... i callled them back, after waiting for like another 3 days, they told me that id have to send it back to the store i bought it from, then theyd have to send it back to their distributor, then the distributor would have to send it back to them.... all this bullshit... anyways, the story goes on... but in the end, ill never ever EVER buy anything from these crooks again. Put it this way, I got a second ballast, which STILL doesnt fire MH, but i use it for HPS.
Well I just wanna say that I received all my ballast and they are working great, a very smooth start, with the 600w HPS I need to put the sunglass hehe I dunno if they produce more lumens cos I can't test it, they stay hot but my friend said a normal ballast is way hotter, you dont want to leave your hand on it for more than 3sec...
Couldn't find any reference to LumenAce products on BGHydro, and MDHydro is out of stock on the LumenAce 600's for the forseeable future. I'd really like that LumenAce, as it appears it's a superior product to the Lumatek (and for a lower price! at least by MDHydro's listing). I also like the fact that it has a detachable cordset / universal socket and everything ready to go, unlike the Lumatek 600's they carry.
All other places I've found on Google seem to want around $300-ish after ridiculous markups, as usual.
Any news / info on this would be greatly appreciated. I really want that LumenAce 600 badly...
