Lowryder

Hi all,

I have some Lowryder seeds here that I'd like to play with a bit. Does anyone know if you can grow them hydroponically, or must they be grown in soil?
Also, what sort of lighting is required. I mean, the way all the information I can find reads, this plant will grow to maturity just by placing it in a room with minimal lighting. In other words, it looks like you can just set the thing on a windowsil and leave it until it finishes.

What's the real skinny here folks???

Lowryder is an auto-flowering strain-

Plant it and under any light cycle is should grow and flower.

Like any plant you can use different mediums. Soil, hydro, etc.

I'm sure you can set it in a windowsil and it will grow but for big buds you want supplimental lighting on those ladies. At least a few CFLs on her for anything worthwhile. A 250w HPS would work nice and it's rather small in comparison...

That's great! And I just happened to have acquired recently (through barter) a brand new 250w lighting system complete with a miniature Supernova reflector and a cute little ballast box. I think I'll make a little room somehere in here and plant several of them and hope I get a couple of females out of the bunch.

word. i believe all lowryders all already fem'd. i don't think you can get a male lowryder, unless it's a hermie.

i've never grown any.. just read about them.

Yer wrong, they are standard f/m seeds. Atleast if u buy em from doc chronic or whoever is pushing em..
Anyways.
If you have a nice indoor growroom and some other seeds..
Dont waste yer time with lowryder, it really is not worth it.
Low yields and the smoke is not that good. It has too much ruderalis in it or sumtin..
Altho if you grow hydro, they will proly yield better but still..

The taste is pretty non-existing and the high is kinda like muck weed.
It gets u kinda stoned, but definatly not high


On the positive side, it's a easy to grow plant and the autoflower is fun, but thats about it

But coz of the strong autoflower thing, u cant clone LR.
Always gotta grow from seed. So if u plant em. Make some seeds if u wanna grow em again.

Me too, mate. I'll be giving those Lowryder beans away. There is no point, with my need for pain relief, in growing these seeds as they wouldn't be of any use to me. So, I'll make a gift of them to someone in need.

whoah dont sling em....whats wrong woth getting males.....ur at much more risk of screwing ur garden using femmed bans beilieve it..... and LR, you can pollint one so u get more beans to start.....someone said somewhere it breeds true although im not 100% about that.
with the size of these anyway its not like the males are going to be taking up a lot of space and you will know very quickly whos who with the auto flowering....then u just cull the boys or keep the one you want for pollen..... Fem seeds are only going to be all fem if treat absoloutle perectly with zero stress and every sinlge factor bang on......by saying you dscount anything that will have males, ur pretty much shutting the door on everything worthwhile... If you were growing 7-8 yrs ago you would have never grown anything because fem seeds are still a very new thing on the market.... Lots of so called fem seeds end up with ,males in em or at least herms.
mojave...if your looking for pain relief try some Lifesaver(I aint but its BOGS med starin) and Sour bubble (I love it and its what I use as my med smoke)
also, something doesnt have to make you feel knockout stoned to be medicinal either.. something worth remembering on the search mate....

Don't give em away dude.
Go hog wild on em. They are pretty nice outdoor plants i would think.
I live in Finland and i kinda gave up on OD growing because of our short & moody kind of summer, so i never tried em outside, but some dudes here did do nice outdoor grows with LR.
Again i wont bother because i'm not a fan of lowryder smoke, but i'd imagine it would make a nice building block for future breeding of those fast OD plants.
You know cross em a couple of times with real weed :smile:
So if you live in some sunny state or down under or whatever, and u can grow outdoors.. Pop up a few mayne, they dont need much attention.

PS. I'm surprised that no one has stepped in and defended lowryder yet..

Hold on Dave ... Nice to see you here instead of OG. There is alot of controversy over the potency and yeild of Lowryder. If you would like to check out some good info, go to Hybred.net. It is a forum dedicated to auto-flowering strains, and it is run by MDANZIG, one of the original breeders of Lowryder.

I have just (and I mean today) germed 5 LR's, and I plan to grow them hydro. I am not saying any of the info above is not true, but I found a pic of one LR grown hydro that yeilded 98 grams. The smoke report said the quality was at least that of a good mid-range, if not better. I have read other reports that were as good, but I have also read some really bad reports -- the worst was a yield of 3.5 grams.

Fact -- 50/50 Female/Male

Fact -- No cloning because of AF.

If you are interested in AF'ing plants, none of the LR crosses produce 100% AF plants. I think it's more like 25% AF. I wouldn't pitch the beans yet.

you just need to drop the temps in your hydro, and it will override the autoflowering.

Why not grow real weed if u dont need the autoflower?
Sure it proly would make a nice SOG plant, but there are better ones at that.

AMD, would you have any pics of a LR turned back to veg? I tried my best with cold and hot temps, nutes etc. but only could get them buds to stretch very little but no veg...would really like too see this, havent heard that anyone has revegged them...

as a side note to the dogfarts, plz keep in mind that the cuttings you take, even though they are now seperated from the mother plant, and in another, seperate medium, are physically and physiologically the same age as said doner.

Is it really that bad of smoke? Is it better than normal commercial?
I have a couple now and they look nice.
