At least he can smoke the males now, haha. Male plants naturally turning to females sounds pretty interesting to me, unfortunately that babelfish thing aint working with that site for me.
Male to female hermies are rare, and I read back on OG that they were often very useful for breeding. I can't recall the exact reason, something to do with chromosones.
it seems like this guy did stress his male so much in many different ways that it hermied. this i guess would not be a "real" hermi and could be used for breeding as i understand?
esbe- oh of course not, I don't know really know JD but I do know his breeding work is good, he's pretty much known for stabilizing recessive traits, he's no "pollen-chucker".
Whenever I do lr2 I'm gonna try to stress a male to hermi, using conditions "optimal for females" after sexing rather than before.
Bean- long as temps don't get too cold, you'll be alright. With AF's though, the more light the better though.
Basically same thing as regular plants other than that, give them good soil with plenty of rootspace and they'll shoot off.
Let the healthiest males survive, cull the rest. Take a few notes on the different plants growth, and save beans from your best females plants after you smoke them and go over your notes on their growth.
What I love about the LR hybrids is they force you into breeding if you want to keep them around.
