low humid

my humid has dropped for some reason to 30-34%, is there anyway to raise it?

what are the effects of low humid?

some authors maintain that a drier atmosphere with low humidity actually increases resin production as the plant begins to protect itself from heat stress by shuttling resources to the resin gland which prevent moisture loss from the leaves....

also lower humidity prevents mold growth on plants and bud rot which is a good thing for sure.....

do you notice a decrease in growth rate?

ill tell ya..since the temps outside are cooling off here in n.east usa...
my plants are thriving....very good f/m ratios...cant wait for my experiment to finish so i can plant some GOD BUD beans i just got.ill be nice and warm this winter

I have heard the same as guineapig so i would normally keep the lower humidity...
If you really wanted to raise it use a humidifier.... PeAcE

Sometimes a reduction in humidity will do this kind of thing. One of the wonders of approaching winter.

You can actually raise your R/H about 10% this way if your room is fairly closed up.

During veg, I've found having a high R/H (75%) to be best. I have had grows in winter conditions that I couldn't get passed 35%. Those grows were still very good.

In Flower, I like to drop my R/H. Especially after proper flowering has begun. I'll take it as low as 25% if I can get it. I have had situations where I've flowered at 65% R/H without any mold issues. IMO there was a decrease in trichome formation, but overall the smoke was good.

If you have no environmental controls (i.e. fans, ventiliation, etc.) then growing between 25% and 65% may have some unwanted effect on the grow, but it should still produce a decent quality smoke. Keep in mind that high humidity during flower does pose a mold threat.

By all means, if you can do it. Try to get a handle on the environmental factors in your rooms.

never seen leaves curl upwards and inwards before......i've seen the edges of leaves curl downwards and inwards but never upwards and inwards.....if that makes sense...thanks for the link verite! -gp

beaner i have a 449 cfm 6 inch vortex sucking air out, central heat and air(fan only) bringing fresh air in, and an oscillating fan in the corner for good air flow through out my plants and to blow a little of the light heat out from the bottom of the bulb, so ventilation is great....just never seen humid anywhere below 40 before so i was kinda concerened on the ill effects extra low humid may have on my plants..couldnt find an anwer on og faq so i came here. glad i did thanks fellas.
