Chem 91

A pheno I found in a pack of Dinafem white widow. Went for a hair cut with a ten bag in my pocket and the owner of the shop offered to buy the whole harvest off me for gram prices. I grew a hundred white widows from Dinafem after that and never had anything close, I suspect it may have been a mixup and actually something else . Circa 2013

I had a similar thing happen not long after Barneys Farm first released their LSD. I found a mind blowing beautiful pheno that reeked of musty basement skunky coffee, frosty asf and yielded baseball bats... I have grown several packs since then looking for something even similar to that girl and still have not found anything remotely close. I gave up looking a few years ago. I kept a cut around for about a year and then ended up losing it, dammit.

When I first grew Chem D it was the loudest smelling weed I ever encountered. I could walk in a party room with a zip bag of Chem D and very quickly after walking in people would comment on skunk, garlic and fuel smell. The last few years even though still potent my Chem D has lost its famous stank. Very sad.
I had 31 elite cuts and none smelled as loud as Chem D.

The UK Cheese cut was the most delicious weed I ever smoked. At first a great high but it had a fast tolerance buildup. But the taste. WOW!

I would love to find another cut of Chem D that had the smell again.

I've got the real chem d cut and it smells exactly as you described in your description. The cut has been TC'd, not sure if that made a difference or not but it has the vigor of a seed plant and will out yield almost anything else in the room.

Have you tried rejuvenating her outdoors in the sun? The sun is a powerful tool to bring back lost features of an old clone. Just select the healthiest cut off her and put her out during the spring and up till the point of flower time/late summer, bring her back in and i bet she will go right back to the old days for ya. I've done this numerous times with success.

What was the aroma profile of that one?? Can you give a description??
I’m not great with flavour & aroma descriptions. Maybe like very strong hops? Other loud strains I’ve grown are Exodus Cheese S1, SDIBL, Yumbolt and Hog but that G13-BX was far beyond those. One of those ones where you can’t take it anywhere because the smell is too strong, and the type of aroma where you can’t help but stick your nose in the jar any time you open it. No citrus or incense or any of those just that dank, dank weed smell.

@MountainBudz I do that every year. In 2021 I had a great grow of Chem D. Sticky, loaded with trich and no smell. I took cuts right before flowering started and they had been in the sun May, June, July and a few days in August. Same results in 2022. Great potent sticky buds with no smell.

Very strange but honestly now that you mention it, I can relate. 3 years ago I got a specific headband cut called "Bloomington Headband" and along with it Giesel and the Santa Cruz Blue Dream... Exactly as you described, beautiful buds, great yields and all but the smell wasn't there... It was there but abnormally mild. And for whatever reason the potency was lacking as well, but the stuff looked super top shelf.

So my buddy got back with me a few months later and told me they all tested positive for hop latent and I immediately burned everything that had been in the vicinity of those plants and then bleached literally 100% of every centimeter of all grow equipment, rooms, trays, etc... I lost several other cuts along with those 3 because I didn't wanna take any chances... Thankfully I had another room that I kept the majority of my moms and breeding stock in.

Not saying that's a possibility for you, but could it be? Have you taken anything in around the time she started going downhill? Hop latent can lie dormant for a long time and express differently in various plants. Clone trading and even gifting these days can be a terrifying thing. Ever since then I'm paranoid asf and I literally have EVERYTHING tested at least once a year... also everything that comes in has to be tested and I have to have the results. No problems since.

Nice! I wish Gypsy still had those available. Do you remember what year?? I haven't seen a killer g13 line nor cut in YEARS! I mean, I had the Airborne g13 for a bit but shes nothing like what I remember g13 being, I didn't keep her around too long. The G13 I remember sounds very similar to your story. She grew great outdoors, stayed squat, strong and bushy and smelled like super loud skunky/hoppy armpit with some strong pine in the background. I would love to come across it again.

2002 - 2004? Sometime around then. If Gypsy offered them again I would have another crack at them, I liked it a lot. I remember the seeds were pretty pricey back then, and I had thought they were feminised but I got a hermie & a full male with the rest female.

Yes, squat with buds you could smash a window with.
