I know that Tom Hill made pine tar kush x haze... that would be pretty piney and pine tar kush made a haze effect more friendly probably. but it is not available anywhere I guess.

ethiopian highland I grew, and it seemed to me more peppery oily, maybe some pine there, but I would not call it pine weed.

chimera has cross pine bud x jack herrer.

Is the Ethiopian Highland a different line? Hard to imagine this not smelling like pine, but I dunno..

And hasn't Chimera retired?

doesnt mean much imo. most cannabis contain pinene... sour diesel contain limonene, is it lemony weed? no.

from ace seeds description:

Bouquet: Earthy and woody african sativa aromas, with floral, musky and fermented citrus touches.

It is same ethiopian highland, coming from african seeds.

Well Sour Diesel does have a little bit of a citrusy quality to it I guess. Limonene if I understand correctly is more the orange peel type aroma, even piney(!) and then the lemony would be more other compounds like citral, citric acid.. If I google I find flavonoids never even heard of.. apigenin, rutin, quercetin, kaempferol, nobiletin.

But ok if it's the same and not piney then I guess not.

Whats up Pineheads? Its been quiet in here. My next run I'll be investigating Bodhi gear. Going to go with

Bodhi - "Cocoon" (Loompa HB x Wookie) since the Loompa HB has been noted to be piney at times. Lets see if any of that comes through.

I'll keep y'all posted. After that I'll probably run that cross I did indoors and out.

Also got some non-pine varieties I will be mixing in.

Recently Next Generation seeds was on the breeders syndicate pod cast. He was talking about brining the romulan back and working it back to what it was. Apparently the seeds should be released soon if not already. He said they were pine dominant.

I’ve never tried romulan. But looks like you have some experience?

Romulan is great indoors but a little late outdoors at 45th. We're talking mid October and beyond. I've got a great Romulan pheno going as we speak. Super pungent rank kind of skunk funk. Not the 80's floral pine that we think of but a spicy kind of pine. Killer knockout narcotic buzz and flavor for days. Too bad it's so late outdoors. Ive got a Fallen Angel male I'll be pollinating it with to try and shorten up the harvest time some.

Grab his pinesoul crosses… The pinesoul cut smells more like lemon pinesol floor cleaner than every any og cut I’ve ran.

Irene has a juniper berry pine thing going on as well… Funky!

Neither are pure Christmas tree pine, but are loud terps in the realm you seek.

The OG Kush I was growing and am now smoking has an incredible fragrance. I like to think chocolaty . But mowing my deciduous Dawn redwood leaves this fall I got the same fragrance. Same with the pitch from their seed cones which the squirrels love.

I've heard the Serious 6 is really piney. Got both piney parents. Durban and Friesland. Pink pistils. Looks an awful lot like the old SSSC Friesland my dad used to grow back in the late 80s. Sharp spruce sap floral pine skunk. Has anybody grown the Serious 6?

Romulan was good, more of a citrus pine in my experience. The high is pretty strong and sedating. I know the next step of this journey is to introduce a sativa to offset the strong indica effect of the genetics I have been exploring.

Remembering the pine bud of old it was fresh, light green, uplifting and clear but not racy, with a nice entourage from the terp profile.

Maybe by 2026 I'll have something nailed down at the pace I can work. Its a worthy effort.

Perfect description of the stuff we had in northern Michigan from late 80s to early 90s then completely disappeared. It was always outdoor grown fresh sticky and came around every fall. No purple just straight up florescent green bud. We called it lizard weed because of the bright green. Small dark tiger striped seeds. Pink pistils when grown outdoors. Always done before or by September 15th. Very important because that was opener of small game hunting in Michigan. Hunters would surely find it if left any longer. Best stuff I've ever smoked still as of today.

I am growing J’s *** edit- from next generation seeds not jake from romulan seeds*** new femmed romulan and also Island sweet skunk .
I suspect there is a lot to be found in the new worked romulan. So far out of 3 romulan ladies 2 are more on the sativa side and the other is indica. To me there is sativa smells along with pine coming from the sativa side like carrot, spices even frankincense with nice uplifting effects.
The indica has a very dank smell and flavour like a super skunk but it is strong pine and sour with a great stone.
I also grabbed the sativa Romulan #7 regular seeds but i haven’t been through them yet
