Looking for good outdoor strain

Wally, your c99 crosses look delicious. Was originally thinking about using native soil, inthe ground, but I'm leaning toward using a soil mix in pots. This way, I can get these girls closer to the beach, more sunlight, and don't have to worry about the sandier soil out there.
After we see how this goes, some c99 (if possible..probably ought to get my hands on something before it's gone forever) or a hybrid, and a good, long flowering sativa sound nice. Trying not to get ahead of myself.

gmb: when i was a guerilla grower i would pack in over 100 pounds of soil to my locations.
I picked my spots, and dug holes over a month before i was going to plant. I dug holes 3 feet wide and 3 feet deep. most of the soil in my area was clay, i occaisonally found humus. I saved maybe half of the native soil, and filled the rest with a dark humus, peat moss, and some perlite.
the best thing i ever added to my holes was a microblast powder, which is essentially the mycorizae fungus in a blood meal (to feed the fungus colony). I added this stuff in as soon as i dug the hole, using hte native soil. big big BIG difference.

your conditions are very different than what i used, so i might not be the best resource for the soil type you need for your climate. if you get alot of rain and have high humidity all year, you need a soil that drains better. sand could be a good thing. but humus soil is great because it is a food source for beneficial fungus and bacteria that literally feed your plant.

good luck.

Good point. If I'm able to make it out there soon enough, I'd love to dig a plot and ammend the soil. Otherwise, I was planning on using about 1/3 organic soil mix 1/3 native sandy soil, and 1/3 perilite in pots (maybe a little less perilite..oh..and some stuff to retain a little moisture on top(for the first couple weeks to make sure they live). All of this ammended with blood/bone meal, etc. Still got to find a good recipe for the nutrients. I'm only going to be there once or twice a week, so I'd like to find something that'll keep enough moisture, and not have to worry about watering with nutes.
