Looking For A New Timer For Ballast

I'm looking for some opinions on a good timer that can hold an initial draw of over 10amps without tripping. I'm not trying to get the huge metal mechanical box timer. I don't need to know where to find them at. I just would like some opinions and experiences with timers that will not trip of an initial draw of over 10 amps. My timer died and have to manually turn on the light as of now and only have a few days to decide which one I would like to snag up as my timing isn't always kosher. I'm running a 400w light now but would like to retain the option to ugrade without having to upgrade my timer along with it. Anyone who replies thank you in advance.

yah I know I should just get one, but I'm trying to be lazy and just plug an play. Instillation isn't a problem for me. The real reason I don't want to have to get a mechanical box timer is because I gave my old one away a little over six months ago to a partner of mine who was running much more than I. Of course now I'm wishing I hadn't but oh well. So I am just checking out my options and trying to get some feedback on makes an models that have worked well for others, you know just trying to see what I can see.

I'm on the edge. Of what I'm not sure.

I use the Intermatic T35 for up to 1000w, or it's heavy duty brother brother Tn311--good for 12 amps continous.

Both are 15 minute interval style pin times, plug and play. They are both under $20. Have used both for years with out failing or worries.

One more opinion, two more good options.

If your going to run over 1000w though, the Intermatic 30 amp timers have to be hard wired, but you wont loose sleep at night wondering how it's holding up.

Hope that helps.

I've always used cheap intermatic timers and never had any problems. The most was 8 600's but they each had a timer. It really isn't cost effective at that point, but we already had 4 of them.
