Awesome how much longer till harvest? If it was me I would leave them as long as possible but thats just me. Sweet grow I wish i could do the same in Aussie similar weather here too.

Was thinking about taking down GT (#2) this coming Sunday Nov 22 or waiting until Nov 25th.
The rain is coming, the high humidity. The Malawi is suppose to be ready sometime in Oct per description - so I am hoping by having let it go an extra 4 weeks or so - GOOD STUFF CITY.
Had a GT pheno that finished up a week or so ago - harvested that plant in 2 sessions a week apart.

Excellent pheno expressions and great growing skills, mikeandnaomi :)

I'm so glad your late flowering Malawis and Golden Tigers are doing so well outdoors in your garden.
They look impressive regarding both yield and resin production.
They are going to be strong, i promise you ;)
Thanks for all the great updates!

Thank you so much Dubi for the comments. Its your variety selections that deserve all the kudos.

Smoked a lot of GT #1. WOW...You get high - then you get HIGH... then HIGHER...

Golden Tiger Rocks !

Day 173

Golden Dragon (#2)

Smells GREAT and solid. Its time has come.

Its 3rd week of Nov.

Love how these keep the season going.

Next up is the Malawi.

Here are photos of The Golden Tiger (#2)

Day 173 is dedication, loyalty, perseverance and a nice plant.

Started defoliating, massive resign.

Pheno #1 is very "Trippy" if you smoke a little more...

Beautiful garden! Exquisite!

A couple of questions, as harvest sweet spots have always fascinated me - I consider it a large part of the Great Art. What criteria -if any- are you using to determine harvest time? Trichs? Bud condition? Weather? Do you sample the plants as the flowering continues - if so, how would you characterize the changing of qualaities (if any) Thanks for sharing!!

To us - it all plays a role in determining. Once you get over the last HARDENING then its time to really start looking at other things. Its a comprehensive thing. We really like experimenting with times etc. Yes do take some samples along the way to gauge.
Let the plant go. Learn for yourself. You can read a lot in books but until you do it many times many ways it can be tough to hit the SWEET SPOT. The longer we let plants go the more range in flavors and aromas. Some buds appear to change shape with swelling.
After you mess up a ton of times - you get it kind of right. Harvesting the tops and letting the bottom 1/2 of the plant go another few weeks is always fun.
