I have read an article in HT magazine where a grower was using a 1000w in a 3x3x6 area. That gave him like 111.11 watts per sqft. The intake was a 5,000BTU A/C and an adequate inline exhaust system. He stated that b/c of the high light concentration and adequate ventilation...he was able to produce more bud...says about 2 # every 60 days. Says 25 plants in a SOG.

OKAY. To me, that sounds pretty freakin' good for the size of the space, no?
That is like roughly 700g...not too bad. However, I remember that OG had a grower efficency calculator...basically a g/watt ratio. 700/1000 IS WELL under the 1g per watt that a lot of growers like to push themselves to achieve. But thinking again, a lot of seed companies say so many g per sq. ft can be achieved to measure the yield possibilities. And most companies say HIGH yielders are like 400-500g per square meter indoors. (3x3) So to pull around 700 and ounce per plant +)....is think is good.

Also of note...the SOG is stated as running clones after they have successfully rooted and placing them in 6 in dixie cups and then veg for only 5 days. From there, one gallon grow bags for the rest of the journey. "Trained to be single cola plants"

NOW THE POINT...

Assume you have a small 2x2x5 area w/ a 400w in it. Well, that would be 100w per square ft....given adequate ventilation and A/C intake...is it crazy to say that a # could be grown in such a small space?

Just curious really. I see so many amazing threads here, but I don't ever really see anyone stating the yields... It would be nice to know what people are able to output off a certain wattage...

I think you could achieve it but you'd need a heavy yielding strain with little stretch. I think if you grew in 2 gal. square tall pots you could get to the mark or pretty close. Plenty of air-cooling and cold fresh air and those plants will be happy.

It says nothing about using any Co2....I used to think that was the only way to build them up like that....but guess not.

The article says the plants stretch bewtween 18-24 inches during flowering and since all clones, then you figure the total height under 30".

But really, why would you say you gotta go 2 gallon....???? just want you opinion
