always a pleasure to have a look at your updates

it's a pity about the 2 lost phenos , but I'm quite sure that you going to have the chance to replace them ..
great looking buds

enjoy your efforts mate

yeah nearly done with this thread, maybe a smoke report to finish it.

i still have just over 30 of the seeds those 5 girls came from, so with any luck i'll find them again, specially pheno 1 is a big loss,as it's a superb smoke, has great bag appeal and yields really well, got 52 g from pheno 1.

thanks for looking in man

Oh my! I knew that pheno5 was a special lady Sorry to keep banging on about calling it early but I had my suspicions that she would be STELLAR!

The other also look superb but she is clearly the looker out of the sisters. Good yield from those few plants too mate... Should see you through, maybe until you have a full tray of one or a couple of these ladies

Nice show bro

yes you were right about that number 5 for sure, pheno 5 and 1 are my favorite so far. although not one of them isn't top quality tasting smoke.

noticed that my outdoor seedlings have gotten some mites from the re vegging sdxcj, so i went and purchased some stuff to make a mite spray that i found on an orchid site way back. always wanted to try it, but never did. now i have the eucalyptus oil, mineral oil and neem oil which together with a drop or 2 of dish washing liquid apparently makes an awesome spray against mites. we will see, will let you know.

anyway here we have some of the jarred up smokeables

Was a good read Ta G-man,

My favorite part of a grow TeStInG time,
Interesting cross bud your pheno 3 looked to be the early winner to me yet now id be hard pressed to make a decision, good luck with that.

I really shouldn't look at bud porn when I've not got anything to smoke :badday: :biglaugh:

Looking good mate as always. Shame about them 2 not reveging. It's always hit & miss for me aswell. I found that hazes seem to reveg quite well, not sure if that goes for all hazes but certainly the ones I grew.

all i can say is thank God i did those seeds to compliment the top 44, that sd x cj cross is just impeccable. the longer i'm smoking of these 5 girls the more i'm discovering their individual finer points.

no next round will be in pots, these slabs have had it after 6 runs, even though some of the coco still looks to be in good condition, i just want to get some new coco in now.

pheno 3 was the winner yield wise, she yielded 58g. pheno 1 was a close second at 52g, then comes pheno 5 at 35g, pheno 4 at 32 and pheno 2 at 18g.

the choice of which to ru next time has been reduced down to pheno 3, 4 and 5, i accidentally killed pheno 1 and 2 with an overdose of mite spray. 3 and 4 are showing new growth, with 5 i'm not sure yet.

ahh man, i feel for you, being bud less is no fun at all. did you stop growing for a while? or you just smoke everything?

yeah is a shame about pheno 1 and 2, specially 1, but i'm pretty sure i killed them with the mite stuff called vertimec think i used double dose on them and only 1 and a half dose a few days later on the other 3 that seem to be surviving so far.

Very nice frosty looking buds there ga,congrats on the grow m8.

i am very happy with these 5 phenos, they are tasty as anything and really satisfying to smoke. the main part of the harvest isn't bad either, but nothing compared to these sd x cj crosses.

in case anyone is interested i decided to make a new thread about my experiments with the Neem oil, Eucalyptus oil, light mineral oil and the dish soap mite spray, basically i'm trying to work out a safe dose, so far my trials have not gone very well, killed my first test subject lol and the second isn't looking all that perky anymore either roflmao

Excellent finish Gaius. I will be looking forward to the pots trip bro. You have been with the slabs for a long time now and it surely is due for a change. Due to your original slab thread I orderd ten slabd and have them standing by for a time I get an adequate setup. Not there yet bro., but you are an inspiration for sure. Really looking forward to the next round!:thank you:

looks good man!

thanks ya kindly! at least i have bud to toke for the next 4 months or so. as i'm only doing a few out door plants right now, i have to make it last :) maybe even longer if outdoor plants don't make it to the bud in my jar stage.

hehe so it's my fault you have 10 usles slabs in your cellar for the last years eh, rofl. you can always cut them open and use the coco in there in pots. did my whole sd ibl and CJ tree grow in pots of coco from used slabs. in fact i still have about 10 1x time used slabs in the cellar too, which i will at least use to fill the pots for the mothers to be from my SDxCJ seeds. veg room is done but flowering space is not even begun yet. been spending my free time gardening in the woods :)

This goes to show.... CoCo is the best bar none... Who agrees??????????? I Do!!!!!!!!!!!

3 cheers for coco coir!

you know the total gpw numbers were not very impresive in the end don't you? i only continued posting because i had started and felt it should be documented to the end. i was partially saved by those 5 sd x cj ladies, but over all it was a rather small harvest in terms of yield.

bonecarver my man, nice of you dropping in man.

that Fenicure shit i used, is a real good product, active ingredient is fennel oil and as you can see it managed to stop the pm totally, not a single leaf had pm on it at harvest time even though last spray of Fenicure was in week 2 of 12/12. if the fucking mites hadn't gone on the offensive my harvest might have been quite a bit weightier.

that' one of the great things about guerrilla growing, you get outside in the countryside and gardening in the wilds like that is a pretty unique feeling all on its own. check the link in my sig to see what i've been up to the last weeks in my local woods...

Realy impressiv, at the beginning it doesn't look good, but the finish is incredible

yeah this run was some how damned from the start. from 110 clones only about 85 made it to the rooted big rw cube stage. and even that early they all had spots of pm on them. but in the end i think the mites and me being a bit too pushy with the ec at certain points all conspired to make this run less then ideal.

the only good in the end is the fact that my stash has been replenished by well flushed bud, even have a nice amount of super stash from my 5 sd x cj ladies.

GrowUpdate

speaking of those ladies, they are in a better place now lol. my efforts at re vegging them failed on all fronts in the end. i did get the feeling they were going the right way, but all of a sudden after adding the 250watt hps they dried up 1 by 1 and died no matter how heavy with water the coco was. i think the long flush they had to endure at the end till i was ready to cut them took a lot out of them.

in a way i'm not too unhappy as it means i will get a totally fresh start from seed and this time the plants will stay in the veg box and i will flower clones to test them lol. not the mothers them selves, unless they have a rooted replacement clone growing in the veg space. learned my lesson by the loss of those 5 SDx CJ phenos.

peace and bud  :tiphat: :joint:

Sorry to hear none of those ladies were able to be rescued... At least u know that those seeds u have produce winners mate! As u said u can really give them a chance to shine once run from clones and get a feel for which u will keep, I look forward to seeing some more of what those pips have to offer.

NICE GROW! much respect for all the information and updates. I have grown top 44 before and it was pretty good, yielded nicely and had a nice skunky smell and taste. Watching you run coco slabs almost makes me want to try them on my next grow. You obviously prefer coco over rockwool, Any reasons why?

yep, at least i have more seeds. matter of fact i have 10 SDx CJ seedlings growing in my veg cab. i also popped 2 of the top44xsd/cj so with a bit of luck you will soon see clones off those seedlings flowering. i will begin a new thread as i'm still building the flowering box for them. so far i have my ventilation hanging and my window (air intake/out take) box constructed. the wood for the walls that i didn't already have laying around, is ordered and will be ready to pick up day after tomorrow.

i am still quite amazed how damn good all of them were, having done extensive testing, smoking them at different times over longer period of time, i would say the only one i probably wouldn't bother with again is the sdxcj 3, it is still a great smoke, but the other 4 phenos are just that much better. with any luck i'll have 5 more phenos to smoke soon (few months) ouch, my present stash will be hard pressed to last till then.

if you found this run of coco slabs tempting then you should really look at some of my past coco slab runs. last run was very mediocre result wise due to pm and mite problems. the top44 clones were sick with pm from the day i got them.

the reason i prefer coco to rock wool slabs is the taste of the end product. also because the coco is re usable up to 3 times no problem, while the rw slabs have to be replaced every run. but the main reason is that coco is a natural product and i can dump it in the woods or use it for my guerrilla growing, after a few runs indoors. with no harm to the environment. while if you use drippers on coco you can get just as good yields as with the rw, once you have it dialed in. hopefully i can show you what coco can really do soon. here's one of my older threads that show results in my system, there are a few threads.

well now I am really leaning towards using coco slabs with drippers. I have used coco before and one plant got root rot, even being mixed with perlite. But all the other plants grew great.

Just wondering what your nute schedule is, and how long you water for? And could I recirculate or is it better to run to waste?

Or maybe i will just do the good old ebb and flow with hydroton.... This is going to be my first full room hydro grow, so I kind of want something nice and simple. What do you think?

running coco like a hydro set up is nice and simple. coco loves automated watering, it does not like irregular watering. people tend to treat it like earth, letting it get dry between waterings, but it works better imo when you treat it like a hydroponic set up. it gives you the best of both worlds, you get a great tasting product specially if you give a nice flush at the end and you can yield very close to what can be done in hydro ton. i would not be mixing the coco with perlit though, it's a waste of time, even soaking wet coco still as plenty of air for the roots, just as long as it can freely drain.

personally i like to recirculate my nutrient solution till my tank is nearly empty, then i just top it up to the top again and add nutes etc to the ec and ph i want. ec depends on strain and stage of life, while the ph is always around 5.7 to 6.1
