I have a dr120, a sunhut, a new hydrohut, and have had a few old hydrohuts as well. The old hydrohuts had problems. The new hydrohuts have lightweight zippers. The dr120 is little more than tinfoil sprayed with a plastic outer coating. The sunhut has heavy duty zippers, a reflective interior, and a heavyweight fabric outer layer. I would not expect my dr120 to survive many set-ups or break-downs. It got pinholes quite easily and I cannot believe they would make a tent so lightweight. Panda poly would last longer. I am waiting for my hydrohut zipper to break any day now. The sunhut has all the venting options, better zippers, and more durable construction. Out of all the tents I have used, I would only buy another sunhut.

Only difference I have dr150 and its garbage compared to my sunhut. I do think their new grolab may possibly compete now but old gear is horrible quality imo.

i can build anything!

you havent checked out my cabinet thread i guess...(hint..its in my sig check it out)...im more than handy.

i dont want or need a construction project right now...i could turn my entire house into a grow at the drop of a dime.

just wanna put my 600 back in service and reap the rewards...i cant even smoke right now, but thats only temporary.

i just wanna keep my grow to myself and not fuk up my property...thats all....there will be a day when ill say fuk it for a min, and prolly run (10) 600's....and ill be in alaska then.

i would suggest rethinking that my friend
one 3x4 tent is hardly a building project, and can be done in a few evening hours with well laid out plans and a beer or 3
not to mention the $ it would save you

whatever you decide, it's good to hear your going to be growing again

arent the DR series being replaced by the GL series? GrowLab (GL) made by homebox. I say if you can get one of the newer, revised growlabs, go for that. you can fit the 120? there you go.

Don't know if this helps at all, but I already run one tent, a tiny BudBox. I wanted a second, larger tent, but nothing on the market was the right size for the space I had in mind. I also, like you, didn't want to fuck up the place building shit out of 2x4, I wanted a space that could be thrown up and taken down in minutes.

You know what I ended up with? A DIY tent, made from Fruit Cage parts.

With a little internet trawling, I found a website that sold 7ft and 8ft lengths of 3/4" aluminium tube, and the corner pieces, T pieces etc to fit it all together. The tube is very sturdy, stronger than grow tent poles, but just to be sure, they also sell corner braces for extra stability. A hacksaw goes through the tubing in seconds, so cutting everything to length is a breeze. They even sell clip on pieces etc, for grow tent-like moveable equipment supports.

A bit of black and white poly, and bobs your uncle, a custom-sized, reuseable grow space that goes up and comes down in minutes, and for less than half the price of a large grow tent.


All that said, though, if you were to buy a BudBox/HomeBox, you wouldn't be disappointed, they are well put together tents with no real issues I've experienced, apart from a zipper toggle I snapped off when in a rush.. the manufacturers offered to send me a FOC replacement..

That's odd considering when I was using a dr80 w/ a cooltubed 400w, and a 175cfm fan, I was always at 3 degrees above the outside ambient temperature right at canopy level. Perhaps you're duct run is too long, or the ambient temps in your place are too high to began with.

Yeh, only high enough to worry about when its 90+ outside, rarely worry but does happen.

honestly.... it took just as much time for me to setup my 1" PVC and poly tent (cheap) compared to my secret jardin (expensive). yeah im still smarting from the purchase price. my advice AGAIN MAKE YOUR TENT dont buy it.

Theres no way it took the same time to build. Not even close.
You open a tent box and have it done within 10 minutes.
There is no way to drive to a store, buy the parts, build it, put nice vent holes, etc
yes it cost more for a tent but time is money too - how many trips to the store would the average builder have to go?
I tried building a cab and completely wish I started with a tent. No drilling/cutting holes etc

I will have to disagree with CrazyCooter regarding the Secret Jardin tents. I have a DR80, and now a DR100 as well. Both are made very well, are sturdy as any other brand, and contain as much light as other tents. I've broken both of them down multiple times without any problems. Just because they are lighter in weight does not mean they cannot provide a stable growing environment. And that is what you need to produce heavy harvests every time.

I was considering the Sun Hut 2x4 as well but only have about 30" of depth- The Sun Hut 2x4 actual dimensions are 54" x 35 1/2" x 84".
