yes you can. You will only get 1 seed from ea preflower.

any time really. i wait till i see the real flowers start to sprout if i'm doing it intentionally. they slow down a little once they get pollinated.

The best way to capture Dried/cured flowers..
1st, Natural Diffused Light,(an overcast day outdoors is perfect) with no flash.
2nd, Tripod is essential .
3rd, Macro setting helps a great deal, but in not really necessary.

I usually take about 50-70 pics, and eliminate all blurry, sub-par images, narrowing it down to the 10 best or so.
Again; All my pictures are taken with an ancient 2011 cell phone
