I'm using sketchup, this is the first time really using it and just getting the hang of it. I've played around with solidworks so I had a bit of understanding except sketchup is completely different.

THe flower room is now 10.5' x 5.4'

so,

58 ft^2
433 ft^3

the area just of the trays is;

27 ft^2
205 ft^3

that gives me average of 79 watts per square ft

Looks like everyone is on the orca. I"ve never seen/touched etc so looks like I"m a try it.

I haven't used dialux. I will now google.

The 'vestibule' as you mentioned is actually a nice buffer. Id have some growoom slippers and a clean overcoat to put on in there. Incorporate that as part of your regular routine and as part of your IPM protocol. Have an extra set for any guests who may , if ever, tour your space.
Cleanliness is certainly a good thing. Shelves would make it feel less like wasted space too, IMO. . .

IMO wasted space is having a veg room. Veg in place, have a closet to root clones and dedicate the entire space to flowers.

If you go gavita or epap 1ks keep in mind you will need at least 36'' between plants and lights,i found out the hard way.Personally i would not recommend either DE 1k with less than 9-10' ceilings, even more is better.

why buy a lower wattage when you can turn down the 1k's? makes no sense IMO.
Dont waste space with tables, and get more space for flowers.

Thanks guys, I am worried about the DE lights, but as fJ says, wouldn't turning them down get me closer to the canopy?

I'll most likely have the trays on the floor, or just a few inches to give em a place to drain. the veg room is more of a clone/mother room.

I want to have a perpetual thing goin on.

I think the vestibule is a good idea also as they said for pm and pest control. also if you have a perpetual going with the way you have your airflow going it will give you a great drying area also This. Is gonna be a nice clean setup can't wait to see it up and running. You can have an area for hanging for initial dry and a shelf for jars full of nuggs curing to perfection. All in your secure area.

i think it's a great set up. might cut a little bit off the corners of those shelves in the vestibule, keep you from gashing your arm or head on em.

what size ac you running?

thanks guys, about 2-3 weeks away from construction.

Paper thorn; Thats the big question, what do you think? I have a full size window there so I'm thinking I could get away with a window unit, but really haven't looked at them. Obv I would have to build a box around the thing, but what is not shown in the drawings is that the window is recessed into the wall about 2'. So I got that goin for me.

loving the blueprints. Even got the gavita lights looking nice. Your setup is going to be top notch.

I dont think getting the lights closer to your plants is the idea. At least not in my garden. With the 1000DE they are so powerful that you can keep them far enough away to keep heat away and still get 1000umols at the canopy level. Get a max height limit established from the lights and make a line on the wall or build the last tier of scrog right there and dont let them grow past that. I use an apogee quantum meter to make an even umol light canopy. Worth the money to know whats going on in your light print, at least IMO.

I'll probably end up getting a 24000 BTU just to be on the safe side with the gavitas.

Does anyone have any comments on the lights? I'm starting to get nervous going with the new fangled lights instead of air-cooled 1 ks, with the ballast in the other room.

The intake is coming from a finished basement room, and the exhaust is going out into an unfinished side of the basement that is as big as the other 2 rooms together. Any input on that?

those lights with ballasts attached will definitely need more ac than normal. there are some guys around here with experience with them, you need to ask them to see if your a/c will cut it.

Sealed rooms are over rated. Bump CO2 but also use ridiculous amounts of fresh air. A controller to flip off the co2 when the intake/ exhaust comes on for the win. Fresh Air= happy plants. I rock a mini split, co2 and mega fresh air as part of a winning formula for yield and quality. Last time,....

I think this is also an energy efficient way to go for cooling. Curious, how do you control intake/exhaust and the AC? Basically how do you keep from blowing all of your conditioned air outside? I was thinking of putting an auto damper duct intake and exhaust fan on the same timer, but haven't been able to figure out how to have one on without the other. During "day" I would seal up the room and add CO2, but at "night" it would be good to passive/active exhaust...
