Ofcourse the big companies get the right to grow. The pleb growers who have been growing for ages get fucked.
You got it!!

There is no legal option for us small scale connoisseur growers we still risk closing our house down by the mayor in case they find a few plants around..

This is just for bizz men that jumped on a financial opportunity.

Coffeeshop owners are good with this situation as they don't get bullied by the IRS any more and no more raids. Think that's it.....

Let the pros take charge. You dirty black market growers with your nasty skunky weed!

Wow, what a great thread - I wish I had found it before I went to Nijmegen twice and explored the "Legal Weed" / "Staatswiet" on my own and had some bad experiences.
I was a regular customer to Nijmegen for more than two decades, but hasn't been there for a few years now due to the increasingly poor quality. In the end I only visited a few shops; the majority of them had such variable quality that the increasingly expensive prices were no longer worth it to me.

But thanks to the experiment you can now simply go to any shop and buy clean weed at uniform prices.

FIRST TRIP
Ketama

The super sweet owner recommended Sour Blast to me, I bought this and RS11 from Fyta. Both compact and full of trichomes. Taste both 8/10, strength unfortunately only 6/10.

The extreme nice lady at Dreadlock recommended Amnesia from Fyta as the best Haze. Very dry, actually a good sign, but unfortunately hardly resinous, zero taste, effect only marginal - biggest disappointment of the trip.

Kronkel recommended Limon Chullo from Aardachting to me because the new batch of 5 gram jars was said to be very good. Contrary to the recommendation I chose 5 grams of RS11 from Aardachting. Smell 9/10, taste 7/10, effect 5/10. The word "Organic" gave me a good feeling, but after a few days the weed became more and more moist despite the glass. Weed from Fyta was dried much better, stayed dry till "the end".

'T Kunsje answered my question about the best "legal weed" by saying that they now also offer weed from "Hollandse Hoogtes". Unfortunately, the two pretty ladies didn't know how to answer which one of them was the best. I chose SUPER SILVER HAZE 3 grams for 33 euros. When I opened the package, it was the surprise of the trip: Haven´t seen this amount of trichomes on weed in more than 10 years. The weed also surprised with an extremely strong and pleasant Silver Haze taste. The high wasn't overwhelming, but that was probably due to my high tolerance at this point. In the past I would have easily paid 20 euros for weed like this. This quality for only 11 euros was the hit of this trip!

Coffeeshop Lucky Luke has regularly disappointed in terms of quality in the past, haven´t been there for more than 10 years now, a look at the current menu showed: the pathetic selection of legal weeds continues to disappoint, so I left immediately without even saying hello to the unfriendly owner. He didn't think it was necessary to welcome me either when I entered the shop, so no regreds of not greeting. Never again!

The Wedren offers the same weed as in the center for 1 euro less. 5 grams of Sour Blast for 55 euros instead of 60 euros at Dreadlock, 'T Kunsje & Co. Will definitely come back - love the local vibe!

SECOND TRIP
Had such a good experience with Fyta's Sour Blast that I bought a lot of it on my second trip to Nijmegen. Unfortunately, I had to realize at home that the quality of Sour Blast had deteriorated extremely. The buds were much moister, hardly resinous, lack of taste and the effect: very disappointing.

Luckily, Coffeeshop Jamaica no longer carried Sour Blast, which is why the extremely friendly, dark-skinned salesperson recommended Zwirrlz by FYTA (12 €) and Wedding Cake by CanAdelaar (8 €), as these would be currently the best sellers. Very good recommendation - both compact and full of trichomes. The Zwirrlz has an extremely good taste - much better than the Sour Blast. I then bought more Zwirrlz in other shops - including at The Wedren for 11 euros instead of 12 euros in the center.

The disappointment of the trip: NYC Diesel by CanAdelaar (8 € / 17% THC). It doesn't smell bad, but not at all like my favorite variety NYC Diesel. Very moist, not compact. Hardly any trichomes visible. Disgusting taste, zero diesel. Why didn't CanAdelaar accept this weed as a lesson and throw it away or sell it as SELECTION? Instead they bother people with such unnecessary weed - embarrassing! CanAdelaar never again.

Hey everyone!

I've been to Nijmegen a couple more times now, making it four visits in total to check out the experiment. I still haven't managed to snap any photos, but I promise I hope to have some for the next update.

After my experiences from the first two trips, I decided to stick to just Zwirlz and Sour Blast from Fyta, plus Wedding Cake from Canadelaar on my third visit. There was only one new strain this time: Ice Cream Cake from Fyta.
Zwirlz and Wedding Cake still absolute fire. Sour Blast tastes amazing, but the quality is hit or miss, with lots of resin-less mini-buds and at least 50% that aren't well-cured. It’s not my fave anymore; there are so many other options out there, so I’ll be passing on this one for now. I had heard great things about Ice Cream Cake from Fyta (12 euros / 25% THC). The buds were super compact and a stunning purple. The smell was intriguing, but then came the huge letdown: all I got from the grinder was dust and zero flavor when smoking. The effect was there, but it was pretty weak. Definitely not worth 12 euros — biggest disappointment of the trip. Never again.

During this trip, I also learned that prices for the same strains vary across different shops in Nijmegen — Fyta ranges from 11 to 12.50 euros. Dreadlock sometimes offers 5 grams of Fyta weed for 42.50 euros. Canadelaar and Aardachting seem to have pretty consistent prices everywhere. However, some shops have a really limited selection of "official weed," like Dakota, 't Wonder, and Headshop. You won’t find Fyta and Aardachting in every shop.

On my fourth trip, I tried three new strains alongside my favorites, Zwirlz and Wedding Cake:

3Chems / Fyta / 22% THC / 12€ per gram
Small, green buds with a decent amount of trichomes. Unfortunately, they were a bit moist and not super compact. The smell and taste were finally something new. 3Chems fits perfectly. The smell is reminiscent of a pleasantly scented cleaning product—sweet and nice. The flavor transfers 100% from the smell, which is a good sign. If it were properly cured, I’d buy it again. 10 euros would be even better, but the chemical fertilizers Fyta uses have become really pricey over the years. Just kidding—those have nothing to do with the flavor of this strain.

Bio Sour Mango / Aardachting / 19% THC / 9.80€ per gram
Recommendation from Kronkel. Small, compact, resin-rich buds loaded with trichomes. They have a really interesting smell, but sadly neither sour nor mango. The taste is super flat. It doesn’t taste bad, but honestly, you can barely taste anything. I wouldn’t buy it again despite the good price for this quality.

Bio Humo Dulce / Aardachting / 22% THC / 60€ for 5 grams
Based on the positive reviews I’d seen for this weed, I asked the budtender at the super professional Dreadlock about the flavor. She said it was sour and strong. Unfortunately, I was let down by the quality. About 2 grams of the buds had a mediocre kush flavor, while the other 3 grams tasted like nothing at all. Major disappointment—never buying this again.

The super friendly budtender at Kronkel explained to me that in the near future, shops in the Netherlands will only be allowed to sell legal weed and no longer marijuana and hash from their own sources. He mentioned that the Dutch government has been looking around the world and found Canada’s model to be the most promising. But there, the issue was that both legal and illegal weed could be sold side by side at first, which led to problems. Once only legal weed was available, the situation turned into a win-win for everyone. As soon as there’s a sufficient supply from legal producers…

What exciting times we live in! Huge changes not just politically and socially, but also in the weed business—I’m loving it! I’ll keep you posted on my next trip soon!
