Not in Ontario. You can get 28 grams of great weed for $100. I mean how the fuck do you compete with that. My boys are going straight to the dispensary these days.

Apart from the very best buds, everything I grow goes to hash and concentrates.

Many are not making any money. The province just put a hold on issuing new dispensary licenses. There are just too many. They open and close that fast.

Wait until you see what happens when farmers can sell it next to the road side farm fresh eggs, vegetables and corn. lol. While that's not happening yet, I think it could.

I see some in Canada have online shipping businesses for cannabis. Here in the USA, that's illegal. All legal sales are paying out the ass for taxes, licenses, fees.. It's the main reason BM is still thriving. The best weed is still being grown/found in small batch operations. Legal gets those clones from small batch growers. I'm not a supporter of large cannabis operations. It's a poor business model. They think growing millions of lb's is the ticket lol. Cannabis is not a stable product and will degrade as it ages.

Only legal dispensaries can sell online. If they are licenced. But there are many illegal online sellers with absolutely the best products.

The delta between legalization and de-criminalazation. We all know the rationale between the two :(

The video posted by the OP is from 2019, so it is somewhat out of date. As others have said, legal cannabis now outsells black market. The visible black market continues to shrink as pricing nosedives and the police shut them down physically or via money laundering account freezes – even geo-blocking the reddit node devoted to MOMs. Many have gone to IG but there are also lots of stories of bad product and rip-offs, so it is buyer beware as usual. The grey market – the indigenous people’s reserves – still thrive in their legal limbo. And the legal market has vastly improved since the intro with more – and better - products, a wide range of pricing and really easy access. Depending upon the province, there are online governments sites that deliver in 24 hours, retail stores for in-person shopping and some of them even offer same day delivery in major markets.

It took a few years of fumbling but legal is slowly getting there.

Just for shits and giggles . . . I just tried a search for: buy marijuana, to see what Google pulled up. The first link is to the OCS, our government site. Then, the first link in the Google map ‘paid’ links is to a site that says it sells medical mj. The phone # is a local cell exchange . . . but the website is hosted on a .ga domain . . . Gabon. Yeah, I really feel comfortable sending them money. The second link was a .tk domain . . . Tokelau, a territory of New Zealand in the South Pacific . . . After that, it was legal links.

Not surprising. During the vaping journey to legalization, many vendors hosted their sites off shore.

it's not hard to become "legal" in canada but you have to have a solid business plan and CASH.... lots of it.
I recently inquired with my licensing consultant about what it would take to become a licensed breeder offering seeds and clones in the legal market. I was told that my business plan would not even be looked at without a million dollars in liquid asset..... ie: cash.
To become a retailer with a store front or online store is a different thing and is much easier to achieve but this depends on the province or territory the business would be operating in. On top of that , for any cannabis related business you must also get approval from the lower levels of government such as city/town officials.
Right now there is a very poorly assembled framework of legal cannabis entities producing cannabis that nobody wants to smoke with a few exceptions. The entire Cannabis business situation in Canada needs to be completely overhauled. It was set up the way it is right now to maximize the flow of money to corporate and government. It is no coincidence that so many ex cops, ex judges, ex police chiefs, ex politicians and ex health canada officials are involved in and directly profitting from Corporate involvement in Canada's Cannabis industry.
The little guy will never make a decent or highly profittable career in the Canadian Cannabis scene it is just not set up that way.
Only the rich and connected get to play I'm afraid.

Otherwise it's set up an instagram, set up a internet site and a way to discreetly get paid and become one of the hundreds if not thousands of illegal seeds sellers or bud tenders.
It's pretty tempting these days especially since the government here and in the US are hell bent on destroying our freedoms, quality of life and driving cost of living to levels that the majority of people are fast losing a grip.
It's time to go gangster up here in canada, they are the only ones making good money and enjoying life LOL

That isn't any different from Cali. We do have other states that are much better getting in like OK. Many from Cali made the move.

Like a person needs millions to make seeds. Without closet breeders, probably very few modern hybrids
would even exist. It's a clear ploy to keep normal folk from making a living while creating monopolies for
the rich as usual.
