Thanks for the input

Thanks for the input

i highly suggest the viparspectra 1200 for a 12sq ft grow area. 273w for that area just isnt enough.

You're probably right! We'll see how it does.

I've still got my HPS and CLF arrays which I can change out for the winter.

More RED light to be added...

More RED light to be added...

Just bought G8LED 90w (72 actual) all red flowering boosting light. Should come next week.

The plants are looking good but this could help up the LED watts to 276+72=358 actual.

How close are your lights while on veg ? I try to keep mine as close as 6 inches away , bleaching hasn't been a problem either , now when flowering , if the plant gets as close as 14 " it will start bleaching. That's with the cx3070 diy light , the citizen led diy and the advanced xte200

I will lower my light in my VEG tent (mine are 15 inches or more)

Got the G8LED 90w RED installed - week 3 flower

Got the G8LED 90w RED installed - week 3 flower

Now in the Flower Box Vipraspectra 450 (276 actual watts) + G8LED 90 watts (75 actual) Thats 356 watts.

:plant grow: Let's go

following this thread for a while... I bought '3' vipar 300w early in the spring for my 4x3.5ft tent- was growing 4plants... went with led's as trying to lower temp as weather was getting warmer... the plants grew just 'ok' not overly impressed.. at the end of this unimpressive grow, I gave the '3' fixtures to a friend who uses em for vegging in a closet...I mite try another grow with some other cheap led's... I think for veg they r ok, but don't think the penetration is good for flowering..

I like the concept of led's n lower temp's

I still have my old ballasts, fixtures and lights if I don't get a good yield.

Edit: The Buds are looking pretty good, just kinda small

Hey 420 , your buds look good , blurple LED's don't have the penetration of stronger COB LED 's like I mentioned before , I made the transition from a 600w hid for flower to +400w of COB LED's and they are up to par when it comes to yield , compared to the 600 watter .

I think it's the multiple points of light and the heat spread on smaller light points (Instead of a huge bulb in the middle) that makes my leds efficient covering every bit of my space , all my colas glisten, even the lower buds grow evenly , hopefully you can also go this route .

The initial investment to me is worth it , and comparable to hid's and withe less power drawn , either way good luck !!! FSG.

Hey FakeSunGrower - Question: What is a good brand of COB LED (fully assembled) to look at?

I'm not looking for cheap, I'm looking for very good.

Thanks!

Any ideas will be appreciated.

Hey 420 , I'm glad you are looking into cobs led's , I can suggest timber grow lights , THEY HAVE TO BE ASSEMBLED , but it's fail proof with color coded wiring , they have different kits but I suggest the 200w citizen CLU48 , you can buy them separately but this kits has everything you need and matched , just take your time , if you can grow , you can assemble this light.

BTW I HAVE NO ASSOCIATION with the sellers , I just think that their price is fair , there's other Sellers like cobkits(.)com with great prices , whatever you decide I will definitely lend a hand , FSG.

Hi. What's your budget? I would look into the the following (1kw equivalents)

http://www.pacificlightconcepts.com/product/plc-6/

https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/products/hlg-550

I am currently running the DIY version of the HLG 550, which is two of these kits. It is very easy to build.

https://horticulturelightinggroup.com/collections/diy/products/260w-qb-led-kit

If I had to buy it all over again and money was no object, I would 100% go with something from chilled grow lights.

https://chilledgrowlights.com/

They have the highest efficiency on the market, but are kinda pricey.

Good luck. I am happy to hear you are interested in making the move to higher powered LEDs.

i found a place that sells the qb kits for about the same price as hlg and offer a pre-built and tested option as well for anyone who has absolutely no interest in diy or assembly.

https://growerslights.com/collections/horticulture-lighting-group-quantum-board-led-kits

i am considering one of the 135w for a 2x2 veg area. lots of good reviews and i've seen some nice grows using the qbs
