So I'm not quite sure how to proceed from here with more updates. I have used up all the storage space in my albums area and when I try to upload images to a third-party hosting platform, they don't always show up here. There are lot more images to post and an additional update from 5/16/19. Any advice on what I can do? Is there a mod that can give me more album storage space?

You need to get your post count up to get more storage space unless 1 of the mods can help.

5/16/2019 Update

5/16/2019 Update

HGL seams to me the happier plants today. Slowly being able to take & enjoy more light.
HLG 's appaer to be seeing the light as stronger then it is & look like they'd appreciate a lil backing off for the rest of the day .
Sometimes i feel the plants perceive white led as stronger then it is.
Been trying to keep even par on both sides. Giving them what they want while allowing us to see the difference the spectrum plays. As of recently though, the HGL plants are capable of receiving stronger #'s. But who knows, maybe because the light is so spread on the HLG the plant taking 350 from all sides is the same as 450-300 on the HGL. Either way, this is today. Tomorrow is another day.

So let me get this straight, the comparison is between:

4x blurple panels ~570w
1x HLG ~520w

And those 4 blurples are at 18" whereas the HLG is at 32". At this height they are supposedly PPFD average matched?

If so, it's already obvious that the HLG is superior. It does the same job at 32" as 4 blurple fixtures at 18" and using less watts. Everybody with a keen eye who has used the blurple fixtures knows their biggest downfall is the poor light spread and the need to have them closer to canopy. What kind of masochist wants to be raising and lowering 4 panels in a 4x4?!

One of those 150W blurple canons is $450. Holy fucking crap.

So for only $2000 you can light your 4x4 using ancient technology that nobody liked and everybody is trying to move away from. And then the person you bought them from reports you to the sheriff for growing weed ;). I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

They aren't blurples. The RGB LEDs that are used give off a hue that is similar to the look of a blurple, which is why people tend to think that when seeing it.

That said, I would still take an HLG light any day over it, simply because of the total lack of professionalism by the representative of HGL on every weed forum out there over the last two months.

And yeah - those HGL lights are still overpriced, even if they're not blurples.

Growers in micro-environments don't have the luxury to use a panel at 32" above their plants. Hanging 4 panels opposed to one also offers more versatility to the lighting system. You can space them as you like, distance them from the plants if they are different heights, or pull one out to use in a veg space if you want. The HGL panels are upgradeable, so when new models do come out you can just swap parts. HLG on the other hand releases a new model every few months, making their older versions obsolete which many forum members have expressed frustrations with.

"Ancient technology that nobody liked". Anyone on any forum who is using the HGL panels is speaking quite highly of them. They are also outperforming the HLG panels in this test that the majority think will win. Ancient to me is HID, and white LEDs are just a new interpretation of HID. Based on the results thus far, the HGL lights don't seem very ancient in how they're growing, but we are each entitled to our own opinions.

5.22.2019 Update

Here we go. It is what it is. HLG has the tighter nodes & structure. But the leaves are smaller. I felt it just needed out of that pott.
HGL plant has a bit more stretch going on & appears to be growing more rapidly. Is more frequently in a good mood.
Mind you, neither side is what I'd call optimal ATM. I feel thats more to do with maybe adding to much ewc topdressed awhile back. Either way, no matter how i went wrong, i did exactly the same on both sides.
Right after taking these photos they were transplanted to 3's. In straight Canna CoCo.
