I'm pretty certain they're a terrible spectrum for growing. If they offer one in blue or red then maybe....

you know led manufacture ability is reaching the point that buyers will soon be able to go into a kiosh of sorts and custom select the spectrum they want in their purchase...

kinda like those designer paints...

They actually do already make these bulbs in all red, all blue, or mixed. I see them up on ebay every now and then along with huge 900 bulb LED panels. I'm waiting for the technology to develop a bit more before I make the investment. For now the T5s are kicking ass for my needs.
