hey fella's

25 days 12/12

last week my lower leaves were turning yellow.. so i gave it a good flush.. then some one told me to give it a dose of nutes even before the soil dried out again. so i did.. it seemed to help.. now today i noticed theres more turning yellow i meam totaly yellow and now there are about 5 sets of leave before the yellowing gets to the buds.. whats wrong?? the top of the plant is healthy... i was using 5-1-1 for veg and every thing was fine.. then i got 2-10-.02 for flower.. then they starting turning yellow.. then i flushed like i said.. then the new nutes i gave them that time after i flushed was technoflora's recipe for succsess. ive only gave it 1 dose so far of the new nutes.. and 1 plain water since that.. the soil is almost dry.. should i give it another dose already??
i says ferts-water-water-ferts, on the package.. and i only give it a 1/2 dose.. should i give it another dose and is there a different problem????

thanks

I'm still new but Im pretty sure the lower leaves turn yellow as flowering gets in the later stages because the cola's and buds and such are pulling nutes from the less important lower sites. As long as leaves aren't dying I think its fine. But I'm just trying to give you a timely response so take my advice with a grain of salt! Also, yellowing of the lower leaves in late flowering is probably desirable because it means your plant is using up the last of its nutes so your bud won't have a bunch of nutes left in it - thats the idea behind late flushing/not feeding.

The lower fan leaves will naturally start falling off throughout the flowering cycle because
most flowering food has low levels if any nitrogen in it. It doesnt seem like you feed your plants heavy at all so you might wanna give them like 3/4 strength nutes. Maybe feed them some micro nutes as well. I feed between every watering. I always try to ride the thin line between feeding to the max and burning your plants. You might wanna water them kinda heavy if you notice you burned them a lil.

u think it is not enough N

... im scarred to do anything.. if it not enough n then fine i can give it some more nutes, but if its beacuse of nute build up ill hurt them worst... HELP

Well plants dont need as much nitrogen in flower but it doesnt hurt to feed them a lil of it if it looks like they are lackin it in the early stages of flower. What strain are you growing and also what nutes are you using? I use like ten things when i feed to try to prevent any kind of deficiencies but then again i have been using my cocktail a while now and am used to the dosages to give my plants.

You're yellowing too early. Yes, it's natural, but it should not be significant until about 2 weeks or less before harvest, if even that.
You already flushed so that's good. You say you are not feeding full strength? Go up to the recommended fert dosage. If you see tip burn, ease off... my instinct says you won't...

i completely changed my nutez. went from bat guano 1-10-0.2 for flowering, which made my girl yellow at about 10 to 15 days to technoflora bc nute package. which comes out to 4-6-10,(im only using 1/2 strength) also uses thrivealive red, and awsome blossom's. and still yellowing after the first dose.. ph is okay (5.5-6.0)

whats wrong?

thanks fellaz

You need N in your mix.
Give'em a half dose of veg nutes.
Then watch'em and up your flower nut strength to almost full.
gradually up the strength, try a 3/4 strength first.

You have some issues.....

First many have realized that the best thing to do is continue with veg fert for 10 days or 2 weeks after 12-12 Im guessing you didnt....

But your nutes arent great....

do something easy like Pureblend... lots of folks to get advice from......

not enough potassium in your ferts .... either veg or flower....

flushing simply washed out any available nitrogen the plant might have used.....

They could use a shot of nitrate nitrogen.....

They might be slightly N deficient, but they look pretty good to me. How many days flowering are they? Are you using all CFL's... nice

Hmm. My leaves yellow and fall off starting around the fourth week or so. It definately doesnt look as bad as you said. Voodoo Juice can help your plants process nitrogen easier if you got a hydro store near you. A lot of the yellowing seems like it was at the bottom of the plants so that is kinda normal to me. I pull any yellow leaf i see just about.

If I worried about every lower leave that turned yellow an died, especially in flower I would be ready for a dirt nap. Sure we want everything perfect though. If I start getting lower leave problems like that, and it starts working its way up the plant, I take a good look at my feeding program and make adjustments. I also will give the soil a dolomite lime tea to help with PH issues and other deficiancies.
