Leaves are curling, Could it be over-fert? (Pics Included)

You're plants have the serrated edges curling up..it's classic ''lights too close''. Put a thermometer right at top of plant heigth.I would back that light up considerably. Put you're hand at plant top level with the light above it..if you're hand is hot, so are the plants.I would shoot for 72-76 F. on the thermo. reading.MJ does better with moderate temps. When the plants are hot, they use ''Less'' ferts, hence the burn spots. You're plants have good growth so far..just watch the temps, and back off alittle on the chem. ferts so Early in the game.Fertalize every 3rd watering during Veg.or every 7-9 days.

Well I flushed all of my plants...and they seem to be taking it pretty well. Its been probably 5 hours since i flushed and they are still perked up like they were, no drooping yet..so I think they liked it.....Skunkenstein, that is what somebody said earlier in this thread and I myself think that has something to do with it too, so I moved my light up probably another 6 inches. I just picked up a cheap pH test kit..and I tested the water that I am feeding with and I got a pretty accurate reading of it being 6.5, I dont know what the run off is, but I will definitly check it the next time I water and get some run off. I wanted to do a transplant but unfortunately I am out of soil right now, Im going to pick some up this weekend and maybe do a transplant if no progress is seen...so i guess its just the waiting game now...lol...

With such little plants, what I'd do is remove the plants from their containers and wash all the soil away then replant in a non ferted medium. Your plants are suffering from over fert no doubt about it.

Since your plants are still in veg and SMALL then its worth the effort, if this had happend 3 weeks into flowering then I'd pitch them onto the compost pile.

Good Luck
lol im sorry but that is stupid. i wouldnt do that unless there was a real bad problem and it had to be done. if you do that it will slow down the growth by a week and will stress the hell outa them.

Yup it will slow down the growth of the plants initially, but in the long run it will be better.

You Fucking STUPID Ass!

I appreciate all the advice you guys..Im just going to let them go, they seem to be doing better today. The flushing stopped the yellowing spots on the leaves, so everything is going good so far..I still need to pick up some soil though...Im going to transplant them when they are better, and in to full flowering mode they will go.
Should I transplant them about a week before I start to flower them or not?...what would
the best method be? Thanks all.....PEACE..

Yes transplant them to a 5 gallon or more container with a high quality soiless medium, it is so crucial to invest in a premium quality soil.
I would recommend a brand like a Promix HP, Ocean Forest, Sunshine mix, etc. and add 30%perlite and 2TBS of dolomite lime per gallon of this mix, this is a perfect base to which you can add tons of things.

I'm not knoking MG soil but it's too hot for seedlings unless your uber-wise and cut it with alot of coco or perlite and you don't use ferts for the first few weeks. Myself I prefer to add organic ammendments and avoid burn or unbalance.

They look light/heat stressed more than anything, a 400W can be fully effective at 10" or more.
12 hour of tubes + 12 hours of HID's is no good IMHO, it's too close to flowering because of the sudden drop of intensity, just run the 400W 18hrs and forget the fluros it's costing you growth, those girls should be much larger at 5 weeks.

Listen to Suby, it's good advise!

Would just like to add.......since you've just flushed, wait for your soil to dry out before you transplant. That way your root ball will tend to hang together when you pull the plant out of the pot. Don't want it falling apart....it'll damage the roots (been there, done that, hehehe :badday: ).

I think you're gunna do just great!
Give us a smoke report when you're finished! :yummy:

Hey Suby.. Good point, I never thought that 12 hours of each light would stress them like that, it makes perfect sense...I guess that was pretty stupid of me....duhh..lol, Ive got the hps at about 10'' now. So should I wait about a week till I transplant? I guess ill have to break out the timer and set it for 18/6.

Bipedalhominid, Thanks for the reassurance that I am going to do just great..That really makes me feel better with the way things have been going with my girls. And I will definitly give everyone a decent smoke report once I get everything going good and flowered out nicely..

If anyone else has any suggestions that would help me out that would be so great..
I wish I could SMOKE all you guys OUT for the help you have given me...that would be so kool....Thanks everyone for the support...PEACE

Knowing when to transplant is not a question of time, typically a plant will root a new pot a bit before puting out a growth spurt, that's why people use a multiple transplant strategy to increase vigor and growth speeds.
When you plant puts out a growth spurt you'll know it's time to give them a taste of fertilizer and in a week or so you can think about transplanting, moving a plant to a bigger pot without it properly rooting the first is pointless unless your trying to fix an unbalanced soil situation.
