Thanks for this thread . I get confused and wonder whot folks are talking about also .
Especially when reading threads comparing dank to schwag
Is it not more like regional dialect , dank seem's appropriate but reminds me of rank , and i like rank weed lol
You say tomato i say potato

LOL. Finest weed in my life looked exactly like your Scwag. Thought the guy was nuts asking $15 an oz, till I tried it. 37-38 years later, only one batch has come close.

That is some nasty shwag. When I was in HS we called it dirt weed. I have not smoked anything like that for 15 years. We had discounts the more you bought. Blunts where 3 for 5$ 6 for 10$
and 12 for 20$ this was the good stuff

where i grew up the street value was
400-600/lb schwag
900-1500/lb middies
3000-?/lb KB's

I remember in the seventies calling not so good weed greta or garbo as in Greta Garbo as in garbage. Of course mersh as in commercial. Mex is self defining and exotic was the good stuff which was compareable to the good strains of today.Red was Panama derived weed and Gold was from Acapulco. Also there were the Marlboros the loads always came in Marlboro cases. Thai weed were egals because that was the stamp on the bricks. Qualudes or
714's were babes as in Babe Ruth for the 714 HR's. Walter was coke as in Walter Wiffle as in the charmin tissues. Take a wiff. After a long afternoon and evening with some friends and Mr. Garcia in the Marriot in NYC. Where we snorted a good part of Peru. Jerry had to go preform on SNL (Alabama Getaway). We were so wired we asked Jerry how can you go on stage now. Jerrys words were "I have the antidote" meaning H. So of course H (I never used) was the "antidote". Now I'm lucky to just have survived and to be able to revert to the Devine Creators Plant at such an old age. It still is enjoyabl as it was then. Maybe even better now cause now I use it medicinaly and realize thats why I always used it.Now everytime I use the Plant old is new.

B. Self Reliant

Based on my experience living in a few very different locations within the past decade, here's some general observations on these terms:

• Schwag is almost always means brick weed, but not always. Usually it has many seeds and stems. It's usually been dried in large piles and hasn't been manicured. It's cheap, but reliable. You always know what you're going to get (quality wise). The actual high varies quite dramatically. I know a few sativa lovers who find great bags of schwag that have a heavy Sativa influence.

• Mids is a terms used to describe a wide array of products. It can be hard to know what you're getting! Mids can be slightly seeded or unseeded. I've seen OG Kush from NorCal that was grown outside and accidentally seeded sell as mids. I would include beasters in this category. I would include indoor "cash crop" type bud in this category. Many mids are much worse than some good kinds of schwag. Some mids are great. Often mids are pawned off onto less than educated customers as AAA ganj. These sellers hope that the buyer will mistake uncured, unflushed, un-dryed bud for "dank" bud. Unfortunately, many people fall for it. Being the middle grade of bud, it can be hard to know what you're getting. Lines become blurred. . .

• AAA Ganj is just that. . . the top shelf stuff. Really, this type of bud is defined by you the user. If it's not up to your standards, then don't buy it! Find a steady supply of flushed, dryed and cured bud that suits your taste and get a good supply of it. Even AAA can vary crop to crop so be wary.

It's sad when you realize you're out of the 'cool kid' loop right? I remember when I got out the military that I didn't know what a blunt was! Albeit I have to admit I still don't care for them. I guess everyone's clear on the swag, mid, dank thing now? My gf and I were at a park today and we were sitting on a picnic table and this is what was written (in marker) on the table, "***** was here on 7/09 smoking a blunt of ak-47 dro! hahahahahaha, and my 24 yo gf asked me what that meant! I was so happy for that brief moment that I actually knew what they meant!!

Getting old sucks, but look at it this way, at least they play our music in grocery stores and shopping centers now:):) It may not be much consolation, but least it's something:)
