Last minute spider mites

I am real close to harvest. I have been going through all my plants with mags and have not had any problems until...
I went to water, rotate and inspect and a small thin web encapsulated one of the top buds. Pulled out the plant and using a little dental tool, cleaned all the web and little dots. Went through all the plants. Used a small paint brush and ran it under all the leaves thinking maybe that would help.

I have maybe 10 days. The room is clean and I treat using neem until they flower. Never had any spider mites until this batch.

I welcome any suggestions

using neem that far in is scary, trichs dont seem to like it, but if your carefull with it on just the leaf, maby foliar feed it to keep them in check a little. do you see a lot of resin glands on the plant?

I had some last minute mites too this last run. I sprayed um with a 9/10 strength sm-90 solution. I was careful to try and keep away from the buds. The leaves that had lots of mites got plucked and flushed. If you can keep your humidity low enough give um a high pressure spraying once a day or so. GOOD LUCK

Your right that is why I never do it once they go into flowering. That is why I am stressing because I dont want to mess with the buds this close.

I appreciate the suggestions. Humidity will be lowered for sure thanks. Unfortunately the only place they have appeared is one that one big bud and I cant mess with that other than hand clean it best I can. Could get the big fans around it and some of the bigger leaves but it has reached the swelling up stage so cant get at much of the leaf anymore.

dont even touch it, way too much can go wrong this far if you spray, you could mess up the taste smell,everything, just let em do their thing, clip on the day you need to and bomb those ****ers when your done, the damage wont be that bad, i know you wanna kill em but i wouldnt even touch them this far in.......

aside from cleaning off what I saw by hand, I will not touch them. thanks. I will blast the room after. Bug bomb?? As in the kind from a hardware store?? The room is always clean so I need something to get in the hidden places, the cracks I guess. What do you all recommend.

I try to hit em with about 1 can per room ad you should be good for a few weeks atleast, but this far into flower itd totally mess up the taste...

No but really with 10 days left most people just let them go and comes time to manicure they kill them by putting the buds in a jar air tight......

I have seen some put a leaf on a sticky trap inside a jar of buds and let the mites get atracted to that one leaf....

just telling you routes that may be helpfull since you are so close to harvest I would not be using any chemicals nor use neem that close to harvest.

When you are done harvesting spray your whole room down with a bleach solution. Add 1 tablespoon of bleach to 1 quart of water. I mean everything lights fans whatever else you have in your grow.

Then use the bug bombs. Hopefully that will get rid of them? Just keep watching for them on the next grow though.

You don't want to lower your humidity that is what spider mites like. You want to raise the humidity and lower your temps. Becareful raising your humidity now though, it might promote mold-bud rot.

Dont touch them if they only have 10 days left Flush them and Cut them. When they Cure they will all Die if their is only a Few. Do you have a Outside Cat. Thats how I got them. Got rid of Cat no Problems since. They make a Bomb for inside Grow rooms not sure of Name. Dont spary them you will F them up.

I got last minute mites in the corner of a room I did recently - and I just used a shop-vac to suck the little bastards off!!!

Some of the smaller branches and buds were narrow enough that they'd fit in the shop-vac's tube! A couple leaves got some tears in them, but absolutely nothing happened to the buds or even the trichomes! (and I checked the crystals before AND after with a hand lens)

It was the most fun I've ever had killing mites!

DirtDoctor you win. I opened it up this morning to see a fine web across a top bud and many little creatures running around. My buddy noticed the top cola next to it was the same. We poundered it and decided what the hell. So that shop vac made very short work and minimal damage. The hairs on the top of one is almost all orange now and tight so I am thinking enough is enought and chop her. But I did go through with an artist brush and carefully knocked aways anything strange on the plants. One more big water tomorrow and that it is, they are on auto-pilot. It used Sweet Citrus and water that last 5 feeding so this last one will be the big flush with regular well water and then they are coasting in to the finish. I will vary that as some still have tons of bright white piestels and dont know what magic will happen in four days.

So thanks, minimal damage and maybe saved a bunch more. My buddy ask if smoking dead spiders was a big deal and I said it was the organic part and medical part I was interested in and med cannabis should be as clean as possible IMHO.

I will shot some tomorrow as the wife was in a bitchy mode today so I was laying low

Tobacco spray may have also helped. It also rinses off OK I think (if the last few sprays were with plain water).

The vacuum did the trick without much damage. Next day, "were back". So I put on the mags and traced down the bud as far as I could see anything and chopped it.
It opened up the plant and I was able to clean so webs in the crevice of the fan leaves.
Hand cleaned everything else around it but those creeps are not gone. I will have to look hard everyday.

I manicured the bud, cleaning and kicking mites out. Checked with a scope and it looks like lots of glands but remains of little webs here and there. I decided to hang the bud for a day and then jar it. Not that those mites are going to suck up all the O2 in a hurry but it is a start.

I am going to burn that room as soon as I am done! Or at least a nuclear bomb.

You know I thought maybe but the bud is dry and sticky. Some of the leaf was trash and that was all cut away.
What am I looking for under the scope. I am not sure I have seen bud rot like this so give me some symptoms to look for. Would the mites have caused it?

How big a deal is curing and smoking that. Will it make you sick?

I will jar it tomorrow and await an answer. THanks. Damn same too, that plant was so pretty

How big a deal is curing and smoking that. Will it make you sick?

If theres budrot in there and you smoke it, the spores can infect your lungs in horrible ways.
ie: google "mushroom lung"

I tend to agree with DirtDoctor, the dark grey spots on those two pictures does look like a rotten bud. Crack it open and see if that greyish stuff extends down into the bud. You might find it moist inside the moldy areas. Large bud rotted colas can be very wet spongy dark and mucky down inside the nugs...akkkkk
