Hey folks! Long time reader first time poster and It took my dumbass at least an hour to figure out how to post lol. I'm curious about laplata labs. They have some seriously sexy pics on their website. The sour pez in particular catches my eye though my better judgement tells me Photoshop was used. I've googled and googled and haven't found many ppl growing their beans. Are they out of business? In jail? Colorados best kept secret? Dank or jank? Which is it? Not in a huge hurry to pick up more beans. I just got an order from tude ( 3rd time was a charm lol) but am also thinking domestic for future orders since customs is a bunch of enema bags.

Never tried them. There is a La Plata thread in the Seedbay private breeders section though.

Thanks for the reply. I looked and couldn't find the thread. But since they're in hightimes so called hall of fame and no one seems to be growing their beans I think I'll look at other breeders. Thanks again :)

These guys are just up the road from me & I know of no one that is growing their gear.

I saw a sign at a disp about a year ago & nobody at the place could tell me anything about em either.

Seems they're duds but they're still a fairly young company.

Who knows... Their gear may be the schiznit.

Former Durango resident here, never heard of them until they were in High Times, and the strain they're known for is just an F3 of someone else's work:

"DGOG started out as an Alien OG x that was created by a friend of La Plata Labs at Eclectic Genetics, since then they have taken the absolute best male and female that they found over their long and exhausting pheno hunt and continued to work these selections until they have stabilized to the traits that they enjoy. Their DGOG is an F3 hybrid..."

I wonder how much it costs to get in the High Times seed bank hall of fame?

That's the story the pics are telling but no one is growing them out. I have only been growing a few short years so correct me if I'm wrong but don't breeders usually find testers to grow their gear before they release them?

The only thread I could find that could be helpful whatsoever was written by someone who doesn't seem to have a firm grasp on grammar and structure so it's like reading a wall of words. And then the guy talks about the 5000 other strains he's growing too so the thread is useless.

If I could get some freebies or a very generous discount I'd give the sour pez and big white a shot.

3 'Big Skunks' at 61 days flower from seeds, all will need at least few more days. 2 look more indica and are leafier, with a mild skunky berry astringent odor. Getting reds and purple tones. 1 loud plant perhaps worth keeping, perfect little Christmas Tree that smells astringent and corpse like. What a way to ring in the holidays! Only cracked 4 of pack and got 3 gals, one may be a keeper if the odor translates well to flavor. I'll report back after jarred up for a bit.....

Grew dgog and big skunk. Not that great. But I really don't understand why they were even mentioned in high times, there are hundreds of seedbanks that actually make something of worth.

High Times is a money driven machine, you pay them enough money and they'll write you up a nice review and show some nice pictures.

HT would be the last place I go for worthwhile weed info these days.

Thanks for the info on Big Skunk, I figured they must suck because La Plata's been around for a few years and barely any mention of their seeds in internet land.

Meow meow meow...sorry to dig it up.....

I'm purty sure that I read this post before I pulled the trigger......
I'm satisfied so far with this and try not to buy into any marketing hype.
I don't live in CO., so I'm not reppin' or anything of that nature.
I was interested to grow something with more CBD than usual.
It is noted on their site (I stink) how they acquired the strains they work with presently.
The description won me over.
I hope this helps IF anyone was still thinking about this breeder.
I see their gear many places.

Sorry for such a late reply, but no, I did not find anything very skunky in the Big Skunks I grew out. I found a predominance of mild berry aromas. I'd look elsewhere for the deep funk I know you and I want...
