Landrace sativa Rojo from the mountains of Peru!!!

nice Herbalistic, looks so Punto Rojo to me, and as I saw and grew sometimes, very thin and delicate sativa. Always heard good things about peruvian Punto Rojos and is a great country to visit, and so much diversity :)

Wow--thanks so much for this post!

I've grown a Punto Rojo X Haze cross, and some phenos looked exactly like this--thin and delicate....let it flower long enough (16+ weeks) and you have some really nice Sativa.

BTW, I also noticed that it REALLY benefitted from curing a month--both aroma/flavor and potency.

Peace :)

Dont know about you guys, but I found pure sativa nugs the most appealing! Delicate flowers, with potent resin heads & unique aroma´s cannot be compared to shwack in anyday/anyway :2cents:

hmmm yah maybe I worded that the wrong way. What I meant to say was that I'm always surprised at how ripped a nice sativa will get me, despite a visual lack of trichomes, especially compared to the usual indica varieties I smoke. Sativa buds do certainly have a unqiue beauty to them and I love how the delicate and airy looking buds pack a punch that can be far from delicate.

Hear you....

Gotta agree with you, that these sativas can really "tear" grown man apart if overlooking them before good puffing session!!!!

Im going to gift the remaining 2 Rojó seeds to talented Finnish grower who has some Peruvian AF crosses to continue the "legacy", so to speak... :D

Hey, I got some peruvian sativa seeds I just finished germinated and recently planted... I got them from my trip to Peru off some great buds I smoked. I wanted to ask you, did they tend to grow hermie???

A friend grew my seeds and told me they have a tendency to be hemaphrodite... Anyway that plant looks delicious, I hope mine turns out like yours =P

can you find good smoke like this on the streets of peru or do you have to know a grower?

If you're North American or European expect to get poor-to-mid range brick weed if copping on the street.

However, Peruvian people are very friendly and within two weeks I managed to find some good local connects who were soon hooking me up with well-grown, well-cured sticky outdoor sativa buds, so yes good herb is definitely available! I speak Spanish though...

Pretty much what the guy above me said. Street dealers always have shitty weed unless you're extremely lucky.. but that's unlikely. Yeah the good weed is out there though, you just gotta get some connects.

I'd recommend befriending a surfer dude or skater, those guys are bound to hook you up... or some middle class peruvian, they probably know somebody who can hook you up with some good shit.

Also, I'd like to add that the weed in Cuzco generally sucks! The best is in Lima imho, with the right connects, of course. =D

sounds like you two have some experience with peruvian buds!

i have been trying to identify a purple strain of peruvian-grown that i picked up while in Montanita (spelt with a spanish squiggly n... the n~), a surf/beach/hippie town on the pacific coast of Ecuador. High was very cerebral and sativa-like. the buds were sticky and DARK purple with a bit of green.

the aroma and aroma-consistent-taste was characteristically a 50-50 mix of mint and chocolate. managed to bring back about a gram to canada with me and my friends with whom i smoked my last joint of it agreed with me about the taste being mint and chocolate.

i was wondering if anyone familiar with peruvian or chocolate-tasting strains might be able to clue me in on the characteristics of this strain.... i managed to bring back about 17 seeds and plan to attempt growing a few indoors. i'd very much like to find out how long i would need to commit to flowering time though before attempting.

thanks for the report...it would be nice to get some seeds...I live in Argentina, and want to work with south american landraces

Sounds like it's effects are similar to another amazing plant of Peru, coca. Coca is another herb that should be legal and available worldwide. Safe and nutritious in it's natural state.

The auto Peruvian sound really interesting, and should solve any long flowering issues for outdoors. Do you know any more about it?

my believe is that peruvian , colombian , panama , costarican and honduras heirloom cannabis all have common ancestors .. by now they have changed due to its enviroment ..

i planted a couple of seeds from a colombian purple brickweed years ago .. to my sorprise it was ready from seed to bud in arround 70 days .. crazy

not that this is gonna happen to your seeds ,, just saying not all sativas need 100+ days of flowering ..

the only way to be sure .. is to grow them out :blowbubbles:

peace~
