yes.. probably hard enough at the equator..I've got a few Zamal seeds, but they are hard to finish outside where it 53*N.
Im up at 41*N its tricky because there are some years when we get an "Indian summer" and can easily take a crop till mid November but there are some years where frost can take out everything mid October so there's no way on relying on being able to finish long flowering stuff outdoors. I don't really mind harvesting sativas early if need be, still a good smoke just a bit less potent. some people say early harvesting gives a harsh/racy high but I've never found that to be the case. Thanks for the advice on the seeds, I've got a few that ill probably need to try that onI've got a few Zamal seeds, but they are hard to finish outside where it 53*N. 1 bonus is i'm on the east coast, we get a very mild winter unless we get the beast from the east, or a few clear nights of HARD frost early. I managed to take a female Zamal to about 9 week bloom but she still had 3-5 weeks to go. What i got was a very pleasant surprise, shit yield, but some very mellow weed with a few small white/grey seeds from open pollinating them with another male zamal. They are a cunt to germinate, but i think i've got my technic right. After 2 weeks soaking in water, and nothing to show for it, i was just about to bin them, but had a thought that's worked for me in the past. All i did was use sand paper to skuff the edge of the seed that splits and remove that very thin film you get around seeds, 2 days later in an air tight container wrapped in damp kitchen roll all 4 put out a sprout 3 males 1 female, which put out a few bananas but they don't bother me as i freeze them and try to use them within a few weeks, but i didn't get around to doing that due to a few problems i was having as the time. So if you ever get seeds that look nice a healthy but won't pop, try skuffing them, it works well.
Check out what i've got at the moment from the links below. orif you have any questions DM me i always reply.
Hey @dirtlove this harvest has been curing all summer now and has gone through a few changes, mostly in the smell/taste. Its taken on much more of a woody smell now after curing but still can tell it originated from a carrot smell if you know what I mean. Its been amazing smoking this all summer, great energizing smoke, its actually gotten a bit more potent after curing for these past few months. I gave some to a friend who has only ever smoked modern type weed and he was laughing at how it looked, I rolled up a joint and smoked it with him and he was astounded at how high it got him. Sometimes I think these type of sativas need a long cure to start to show their potencyHey @Midbio thanks for sharing your grow with this cultivar. I was curious how the herb is smoking now with more cure time?
Thanks man, I picked my favorite out of the 4 and repotted it and put it outside instead of chopping it and let it re-veg all summer . It became a beast!! My plan now is to bring it inside under lights and let it flower out in my garage with the hopes of reversing it and making some s1 seeds to run through this spring@Midbio well done mate, i'm glad they turned out pretty dam good for you. A month or 2 curing should do the trick
