Growing in a jungle must be tricky...You seem to have a good handle on things:confused:..I love the picture of that monster plant in the dense undergrowth.

Good lock this year man!

Thanks guys! Unfortunately, I don't know if I'm going to be able to get out there to water them today. It's been incredibly hot and dry, so I know they need the water. They might even be dead already :| If so, I'm going to take a break from growing. Too much stuff to do to be traipsing around in the woods right now...

Thanks 24/7 :) Are you planning a trip to India? I'll be sure to have pics the next time I get up there (tomorrow?) whether they make it or not...

I hear you man. Keep an eye out for good strains in Kerala. There's good hash to be had up near Delhi if you ask around. You should talk to Naga sadu if you're heading down to Kerala :)

RE warm weather: You have NO IDEA how hot it's gonna be. :) If you're not dark skinned, definitely take along some good American sunblock. I would also take along rolling papers/blunts/a glass pipe/whatever you use to smoke. I bought a nice chillum in India, but it can be hard to get papers sometimes.

Greetings Glock

Where about in the tropics are you, if I might ask? I've been thinking of trying a grow in the jungle one of these (after getting there 1st) and the characteristics from the place seem pretty much like yours... Humid, loads of bugs and possibly some snakes. Sativas are the way to go, indicas can't handle the rain or the light hours of the tropics.

All the best with yer grow (nice selection of strains), and when you can, post some pics!

Hi Browser! I'm in South-East Asia. Can't get more specific than that ;) I couldn't be bothered to water this weekend. It's been ridiculously hot recently. I'm going to check on the seedlings I put out there after the rain this week. If they make it, great. If not, I'm going to take a break from growing. It would take too much time out of my work week if I had to run out to the jungle twice a week.

Greetz Glock,

Thanks for the prompt reply and the info. That's all I need, I understand you prefer to keep it safe. Same here :D Plus, the area you mention is not always canna friendly, depending on the exact location, so keep it safe!

Have you considered using hydrogel to help your plants retain the water? There's some good stuff out there, I'm trying some myself this year. The one I'm using is not only got the hydrogel, but also slow released nutrients. The label reads that you'll only have to water and feed half the normal dose you would without.

All the best, and hopefuly them ladies will still be alive and waiting for you. We would love to see the results!

Thanks Browser! Gonna check on 'em in a few days. It's been pouring recently. Hopefully they made it, but I only gave 'em a little water, and it's been really hot over the last 5 days. They didn't have very well developed root systems, but the fertilizer and intense sunlight might have allowed them to shoot down new roots. We'll see how it goes. I'll be sure to use hydrogel if they don't make it, but there are times when there's going to be far too much water too..lol.

OK, it's been pouring, so there's a chance the seedlings made it. Once the rain stops, I'll get up there to check on 'em. :)

Gonna try and get out there tomorrow. A little worried. Hasn't rained much in a week or so, and it's been really hot. Then again, they're in 10 gallon grow bags, so they might be ok? I've just been really busy. Thinking about getting a better job and getting a cheap apartment to go indoors in. I just don't have time or the desire to go running around in the heat of the summer anymore, even if the yields keep me supplied for years.
