here are a couple pictures of the plants about 3 weeks after initial germination.

^^ the top 2 rows are the VBT
the lower 2 rows are Malawi

^^the very back row is wifi
the 2 rows before that are VBT
and the 2 rows before that are Malawi
the remainder are the Fire og bx

the VBT seems to be the most vigorous so far followed by the Malawi in close second. the wifi seems fine it just grows a little bit slower. the Fire og bx however are a different story they seem to have so little vigour only a few seem worth keeping a few have died.

Definitely sounds like a grow I will be following. Just grew out the Malawi and loved all of its attributes. I have a couple of clones (different phenos) of the VBT that may be on a very short run-way. Your grow should be very illuminating and timely. Best of luck, Lammy! yeah, what concerns me is that I've got to pick males of the Vietnam and the Malawi. considering it's going to be Elite clones of DJ's gear that I'm getting(hopefully) so they're all female. but whatever. I'm sure it'll all be killer.

These Malawi have a cool uniqueness. it reminds me of a attached versus unattached earlobes. I only see it on the 3rd set of leaves though.

I moved all of the young plants to my main veg room which has four lights all on a single light rail. the young ones are under two 1kw dimmable HPS lamps. usually dimmed down to 600 or 750.

the plants really love having the lights on a mover. it really keep them short and compact and help them branch quite a bit.

Hi Lammy, the vietnam black that came from the states was a unstabilized hybrid, it certainly has a good amount of SE asian sativa influence but there are other not so tropical genetics in the mix, the breeder said the hybrid also contains a chinese strain with some indica influence and indeed some VB seedlings grew 'fatty' in their first month of life from seed but later they show very sativa traits, tall, vigorous, branchy, long flowering ... your VBT 9 looks quite a bit like Orient Express.

Hey Dubi, running my lot of ACE seeds!! My seeds of GT , Zamaldelica , Malawi and Panama were mixed up.Di you have any tip to distinguish between them.I have all starting to flowers now and clones cut from each.I have one male flowering, which should be a Malawi . As they were the only reg seeds I bought.I just recieved new reg seeds of each so hope to run them soon. How do you think Malawi would go over. White Rhino, Sensi Star.? Great genetics buy the way.

well I guess I'm going to resurrect this thread. I forgot I started it. I stopped posting when I had a couple security concerns when I found people poking around my house. but they never bothered me with my grow. I ended up ditching a bunch of genetics though. The DJ's short stuff was kind of a pain in the butt to grow. It wanted to keep flowering in veg.

I've got somewhere around 90-95 different crosses that I've made at this point.

I Crossed My Bubba Kush clone with the Vietnam Black Thai. I always think about those seeds but I've never started any. I did a lot of work off my Bubba Kush X Eight Miles High from Mandala.

I also had a sugary sweet smelling shark shock from shantibaba it was anxiety-producing but I thought the smell was incredible it had a low-yield and I crossed it to the VBT.

a grew some rotten panda maybe 2 years ago. and one of the more interesting things about it was one of the plants grew all the way up to the glass on my air-cooled hoods. usually the stuff gets burnt 12 to 6 inches below the glass. One of the rotten Panda was completely unfazed by the Heat and it just spread out because the glass was in its way.

I was reading the golden tiger thread recently and I was thinking about ordering some of those beans. Then I started looking through my bean collection to realize that I already have golden tiger. it was one of the first Ace strains that I bought. LOL

Nowadays most of the packaging for beans says that they're meant for souvenirs. I actually keep them as such. I have way more seeds than I could ever grow out and it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to know that I have this giant exotic collection. Even a lot of the ace seeds that I have if I decided to grow them out I would probably keep the ones I have and order new ones because Dubi keeps doing work on them all the time to improve them.

Here is a few pictures of the male I'm using now i call him GGOE.
he is a cross between Gorilla Glue#4 × Orient Express. I've got plenty more seeds left of that cross but I never flowered out any females I just selected this male. I've already used him to pollinate The White and back crossed to the Gorilla Glue and I crossed him to one of my females that I call WFO#17.

a couple days ago I attempted a few more pollinations: Sour Dubb, Ghost Train Haze, more GG#4, Fire OG and WFO#51.

this is my first time a flowering the sour dubb. I'll see how that turns out but I think i might grow out the sour dubb×GGOE. or quite possibly wait and grow out a similar cross on a different Gorilla Glue cross that I'm making.

Here a picture of my WFO#51. I'm pretty proud of her. I've breed this for a few Generations. The cross is White Fire OG#6 x OG 18 x Bubba Kush × 8 Miles High. the white fire I started from seed as well as the Eight Miles High. Eight Miles High was a male. despite this cross being only 12.5% Bubba Kush this particular individual is Bubba dominant. she turned out really Frosty and the buds just Stack Up.
