ohh ok there now you didnt say the word but you say their message it's symantics.no I find the word illumaniti to be just another latin derived word with out any kind of stygma attached to it.What scares me is heights , death, and getting caught growing. The rest is child's play. And the next time you want to talk like you know me I'd suggest researching the word subconcious

Going multiplatinum and being popular is not a sign of talent.

No, but going multiplatinum, being popular and hailed as talented by millions of people, while composing and performing one's own creative songs, producing one's own shows, singing well WITHOUT autotune, AND playing the piano fantastically after years of classical training, most certainly IS a sign of talent.

Britney Spears is a multiplatinum artist. Her boobs are more talented than her singing voice, if you can call it that.
Except we are not talking about Britney Spears here. We are talking about Lady Gaga.

If it is of someone's opinion that Lady Gaga has no talent, that does not make them an idiot. It's just their opinion.
If it is of someone's opinion that Richard Feynman isn't a talented physicist, that does not make them an idiot. It's just their opinion.

If it is of someone's opinion that Babe Ruth wasn't a talented baseball player, that does not make them an idiot. It's just their opinion.

If it is of someone's opinion that Steve Jobs isn't a talented businessman and marketer, that does not make them an idiot. It's just their opinion.

Should I go on? Is it clear yet that it is quite possible for someone's opinion to be completely uninformed and poorly founded? Do you understand that loudly spouting off one's uninformed and ignorant opinion to anyone who will listen, especially when it degrades a clearly talented artist, is idiocy?

And if you want someone to respect your fandom of Lady Gaga, then you have to respect someone who has the opinion she is a talentless pop product.
#1 Why would I respect anyone's unfounded and idiotic opinion, especially in light of the fact that there is ample evidence (for example, numerous Youtube videos showing Lady Gaga performing fantastic solo renditions of her songs, being well spoken in interviews, wowing crowds at concerts, etc) which clearly and completely contradict said idiotic opinion?

#2 Why in the world would I care in the least about what said uninformed commentor thinks about MY opinion? I formed my opinion on my own, based on my own INFORMED judgments and artistic appreciation, and the "respect" of some talentless hater on a random Internet message board certainly does not factor into it. I weight in simply because I wanted to support Bee Keeper.

There are plenty of talented artist in the world that do not sell multiplatinum albums. Herbie Hancock is one such gentleman that I can think of off-hand. These are the times where I'm happy I stopped watching and listening to corporate television and radio years ago.
Being a SUCCESSFUL artist is about much more than just being a good musician. There are plenty of talented musicians who will never make it off street corners, because they are lacking in business skills, marketing, sales, etc.

my advice to parents is

if you dont understand what your seeing or listening to then dont let your children watch or listen to it,,, if you understand it and decide its ok then ok, but children and teenagers are the most vulnerable to symbology and the use of language,,

symbols and words are extremely powerful things and are being interwoven in an increasingly insidious manner through out the media,,, especially aimed at the next generation in this giant social experiment,,

as well as just how annoying it is watching some tool with a coke can on its head squirt fake cum around

'I'm sure the word you were looking for was 'symbolism,' what is the syyyyyymbolism there..' (Boondock Saints)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lG_OezlTZ1A @50seconds

........sorry, had to, but the clip involves symbolism, dancing, money, and gay men............

and just for laughs, scanned the first 8? pages of this thread.....might scan the rest...........seems like less than 10 posters in the whole thing...........3 main ones.........do we need a lady gaga discussion group?

You're either an alien or a basket case, I thought it was a valid question. Alien or not, I'd just act like this thread doesn't exist from here out... you're making yourself look silly.

Am I now? may I refer you to gingerales last post.see the part about opnions, now you know what I think of you.
