Pheno #1 (Chem D Pheno?)


Hi all,
i sampled this pheno last night, buds have been drying for 24 days,
buds are taking forever to dry, i think it must be due to the humid conditions we've been getting lately,
they're still not perfectly dry but i couldn't wait any longer to try it out .
(pic on left is just before harvest, pic on right is a dry bud shot taken today).
the aroma is big from this pheno, seriously no joke if odour is an issue both when growing and post-harvest,
just need to touch the buds slightly and literally your whole house fills with what i can only describe as a strong Meaty Fuel aroma.
You know it's a good sign when you put your nose close to a bud and you can feel it burn your nostrils with the power,
On inspection of the buds it has thick layers of white trichomes all over with nice thick orange pistils,
buds have a chunky hard feel to them although still a little bit spongy due to them not being fully dry yet.
So for the amount of visible trichomes i give it a good 8.5/10, aroma from the buds is a 9/10 (really is that good),
now down to the taste: used in a Joint (OCB Premium) with a little bit of tobacco in it just to hold it all together,
rolled nicely (which is a relief i can tell you), light this sweet thing up then BANG!! straight up Diesel/Fuel right away,
i was in the room myself but i kept saying to myself Holy Sh*t this is nice man,
i've never tasted any erb that's over in this side of the taste spectrum before so it was a great pleasure to encounter something new like this,
it's like chewing on a Mechanics work rag, really Oily Diesel/fuel, very moreish + unique taste,
for taste i'll give it a 9/10 (i'm sure this will go up to a 10/10 once it's fully dry and had a cure if it lasts that long ).
Started to feel a real warmth start to build up around my face which continued all through my body once i got half way through the joint,
the high built up at a very friendly speed, increasing to a full on body/face numbness,
statue mode i call it, gave you that great feeling in the stomach as your sitting cofmortably numb.
I was sitting watching a Billy Connelly Stand up Show and this erb was fantastic for that,
found myself laughing un-controlably at him on stage, felt like i was a kid again laughing out loud and giggling at everything and anything.
very creative high as well, it's always a good sign when i dive for the pen and note book when lyrics start flowing through my mind,
really did open up the creative side.
The peak of the high lasted a good 1 to 1 and a half hours, till it slowly eases off leaving no weed hangover at all,
just feeling great while eye-ing up the smoking papers getting ready to roll another.
Overall this is pheno has really impressed me, especially considering it's still not perfectly dry and it can only improve from here in,
this is my 1st time smoking and growing any of Kryptonite's gear and i really am impressed with the unique flavours + Highs these guys have brought to the table,
i can't wait to see how the other pheno is gonna be, much respect to ya Capt + Swerve for blessing us with these Cali flavours

FINAL COMMENTS:

On Growing

This pheno was really easy to grow, . feeding was easy, it ate as much as you gave it without any probs, stayes nice, green and healthy throughout the grow relatively easy, definately need a good Carbon Filter for this 1, not so much in veg-early flower but once you get to 3 weeks 12/12 onwards it really is a huge aroma, strong meat + fuel aroma

On Smoking

For me it was a real pleasure to taste 'erb like this, that Diesel, Fuel, Petrol end of the spectrum is totally new ground for me, for me if the 'erb tastes really good that's part of what makes the high so good, not the most potent 'erb i've ever had but for me potency isn't a priority, the taste is unique and stands out from alot of other strains, if you like smelly 'erb that has a full on fuel/diesel taste you'll love this pheno

Thanks SmokeyPufMaster + Yarkland, but i've been checking over all the buds this afternoon and i'm pretty sure it's the start of mold on a few of the bigger buds, in the centre there is parts going a tan/orange colour, also noticed what looked like a tiny part of white string stuck to the bud, it's definately not string so i'm guessing this could be the start of mold, officially the worst grow i've had yet, had to throw a pheno away when growing due to mold which lost me 50% + yeild then this has happened, pissed off is an understatement , seriously feel like giving up growing after this crap

let them get a good amount of air. they will dry out bu if its mold it will cease to grow. sometimes though it can be nute burn...i would say check before throwing anything away make sure it is mold ... dont throw a gret harvest a way due to speculation

i've got a feeling it is mold man , at first i thought it was little bits of left over string (4mm long at most) but when i'd touch it with the scissors it would dissapear, it's my own fault for having poor growing and drying conditions

Yeah seeker, dont let little mold depress you, yes I know it can fuck your thoughts fo real, but it doesnt mean you have to even think about quit growing

Really sorry you had to came up little mold spot, feeling you mang..

However, what about cutting the moldy part away from the bud, these were living nuggets right? If drying nuggets, you could do the same and watch the progress Just dont let that moldy bud affect/hit your jars that holds non moldy nugs..

And even in worst case scenario, you could always make some oil, or water hash from your moldy dog. I bet you were after some very potent buds, but if their moldy you shouldnt smoke them. This doesnt mean it´s all in da trash bin, but instead it means you have some killer oil/hash :wink:

Btw, did you continue to spread these genetics by making new crosses?
