I was thinking the same thing. Root Aphids can be a bitch as well. They dont only hang out near the tops...they will hang out near the bottoms as well and they multiply very quickly. I used "Hot Shot NO Pest" strips and it worked wonders. What I did try that screw my plants up was malathion. I hear it can work wonders, but I will never use it again. Oh yea....there are these foggers that work really well and are not harmful to the plants...even during flowering....they are called PCO Foggers.....

Interesting...ill have to look for those......

The next time i get spider mites im going for the hotshot no pest strips....ive herd wonders and wonders about those.....and i freakin HATE spidermites...

Whats the verdict on the Safers Caterpiller killer for the knats. My local hydro guy also recommended it?

Please share the knowledge.

I don't think that they sell small bottles of gnatrol I think organicide should kill all eggs larvae and adults it makes contact with. does any one know if gnatrol kills fungus gnat eggs I heard it doesn't but I am not sure though

just looked on wikipedia and it says that gnatrol only kills gnats in their larval [maggot] stage so if you use gnatrol it won't kill any eggs or adults so you need to apply a few times to be effective. I have watered container plants with organicide and their was no negative results on the plants after use. my friend has got rid of thrips with organicide.

I've tried gnatrol a few times and it only slowed em down some. If you read all the instructions it says to use gtroll alone, with no nuts and use with distilled/ro water as the chlorine in tap water may neutralize the active gnat killin ingredient.

Kinda a pita for limited results if ya ask me..

I hung a hot shot no pest strip (some don't like em) and it killed all mature gnats very fast. removed it after a few days and if I saw any sign of a gnat I'd put it up agian.. problem solved.

I have not heard of the skeeter dunks so I may try that if I see em show up again.
