Hi mriko,

Being KA5H a polyhybrid is difficult to judge accurately what pheno you got until end of flowering, but yes structure-wise looks NL dom to me. The reason she stayed mainly columnar is due to both: a more indica dom pheno and that it was flowered before she reached her complete sexual maturity.

More Haze leaning plants like your Haze x Kali China will branch a lot even when flowered young. Hopefully she won't disappoint when judging the cured harvest.

I'm kinda confused here...

I've got one KA5H flowering and I must admit that this is not what I expected
I was hoping for a nice bush but the plant decided to grow columnar, ok, not the end of the world, but she seems to fit none of the 4 phenos in the strain description so far, especially flavour-wise, for the buds smell like lemon-perfumed detergent! I'm not going to complain about that for sure, but it leaves me confused...

Has anyone grown a pheno looking/smelling like that?

Hi Fronk,

Your pheno reminds me a lot Old Malawi Killer, phenos leaning Old Malawi Killer in Malawi and its hybrids are a bit more picky with the feeding, but i see she is catching up a bit of green color again

Day 124. Full plant.

Looks fantastic BoldAsLove :tiphat: as usual in your garden

You have very good eye on identifying the different phenos, the first one in your latest post with pics is clearly a Haze dominant expression, the second one more leafy with more resin production on the leaves is a more balanced NL/Haze pheno, the third i think you are also right although i would need to see better focused pics of the flowers to fully confirm.

Thanks a lot for posting, looks like yield and quality are going to be XXL

Hi chilliwilli,

Looks indeed like a Haze dominant pheno :)

Not sure if they will coordinate in flowering, but if you have the chance try to pollinate a bit some lower KA5H branches with Kerala Chellakutti pollen :D Sounds wonderful!

Think that won't work timing wise. The kA5hz is at day 50 and the keralas get 11/13 since 2.5. i think the ka5hz will be close to harvest when the keralas start flowering(~110 days)and produce pollen.

Hi OZZ,

Looks like a more NL pheno to me. Better to judge more accurately during flowering. Hope she fits well in the cabinet.

That makes perfect sense, thanks for the confirmation. She is definitely vegging slower than I expected so that would fit in line with having more indica influence. :)

Hey bro!

Unless the daylenght allows it, or if there are some real compact strain with very little stretch, I usually start all my grow ops directly on 12/12. I'm starting a new one nowadays, seedlings have spent about 10 days outside before shifting to 12/12 inside.

But all 3 haze hybrids currently flowering have been started direct on 12/12. With a 400w bulb inside a 1,80m tall grow tent there's not much point in growing plants taller than 90-100cm, unless doing some scrog.

for comparison, and as requested, the Angel's Breath

KA5 Couple days ago. I'm wondering, what EC are you people giving your plant(s)? I'm around 1,80 at 6,5pH, not sure it's enough...

Hi mriko friend,

You are right, no point in letting the plants grow too tall unless you use very strong lights.
1.8 EC in your feedings should be more than enough, i won't recommend you to go higher, at least at this point.

Wow, thanks, good to know. When I read "heavy feeder" I usually understand 1,8EC to be like a minimum...

I guess I already gave too much, given those yellow tips... I havn't had those symptoms in years, this is about Mg deficiency right? Something locked up?

I gave her a small flush with low dose of FloraKleen, with less than 20cl run off, but which was at +7 EC, that's a lot...

Dubi,

Thanks for the kind words man. Here are some close ups of the other two phenos:

63 days

Malawi/Haze I believe: earthy, nutty, oil bass notes mixed with fruity, floral, woody, incense, perfume top notes.

Top branch

Lower branch

And Malawi pheno I think: woody, oil, peanuts and a touch of grape. Resin looks like it will cover most of this one.

For other organic growers: I last gave them an aerated worm compost tea with a rounded tablespoon of N guano per gallon of water and tips burned a bit on all phenos. Seems to me that a couple teaspoons to a tablespoon per gallon was best overall. I also add a teaspoon of P guano per three gallons, and a mix of small amounts of other organic amendments.

Hey Bold- thanks for the heads up. I decided to flip mine today, I ran into some issues but I think Ive got them straightened out mostly, and I couldn’t let her get any bigger or run the risk of her outgrowing my space. Tomorrow will be day 1 of 12/12 and Ill keep this in mind. I just today started a gallon of ACT. Worm castings, a spoonful or two of mixed soil amendments, Molasses and a small amount of fish hydrolysate. Mostly to innoculate the surrounding soil with microbes since its a fresh super soil mix and needs the bump.

Had I seen this earlier I would have omitted the hydrolysate but I did not mix it strong so I think Ill be ok.

Looks very nice Fronk! :tiphat: You think Haze pheno?

I accidentally chopped off a lower branch of this Malawi Pheno while harvesting some bubba hash plants at just under 10 weeks. So I hung it with them and just tried some now that it's dry. Cutting it up I smell that very familiar smell from my experience with Zamaldelica and it's crosses I've made; reminds me of a mechanic/auto shop I used to visit as a kid with my dad--used motor oil, mechanic's grease, old wooden tool organizers, and a bit of sweet fried onions from the diner next door. Very sweet and savory. The flavor is excellent and very complex with sweet earthy notes that reminds me of the best cobs I've made. I know a lot of people like curing sativas for longer periods of time, and I do this too, but I love to dig into them real good as soon as they're dry as well. Some of the most intense experiences I have had have been with just dried sativas (cured too but I think all plants are different and cure differently). Just personal preference maybe.

Anyway, this plant is like a supercharged version of Malawi and it's from an immature little nug. Halfway through the bowl I completely got lost in my head and thoughts. Almost like I had left the room, paying no attention to my surroundings on a full day dream. As someone who loves sativas but also has a high tolerance, I immediately felt a great sense of gratitude and came here to tell you all about it and also say thank you so much to Dubi, Yo Sammy and everyone involved with this. This really is on another level I believe and can't wait to try the rest of the phenos including the 14 unborn in the freezer. I was honestly a bit skeptical about Ace's description of the line even though I've had great experiences here before many times—marketing and the seed business’ competitive nature and all. I never should have. This really seems to be as advertised. I would both love and hate giving a new smoker some of this. This is the stuff that will turn away some of them, never to smoke weed again, but also create some real sativa heads. You know, the type of people who have lifelong relationships with the plant, always searching for what they have and have not experienced before, like many of us on IC. I can tell there’s going to be some magic in here even through the thick fog of my tolerance. I will definitely report in more detail later on but I felt inspired to come by and express myself.

So thank you all for everything!

A few shots at 72 days (I switched to 11/13 at 56)

NL/Haze pheno - Are these the horns? Nice dense foxtails.
